South Chicago ABC Zine Distro " Statement of Purpose ‘The purpose of tis publishing project s to provide empowering |, information and analysis to (mostly) indigent) prisoners. We do this as an expression of our humenism. We detest all forms of violence whether they are caused by individuals (what is called “crime”) or sanctioned by the state. ’We believe the well-written, insightful truth of today’s political realities, serves as a powerful stimulus for the betterment of those poor souls, caughtin the clutches of ignorance, hatred, despair, self-hate and hopelessness. ‘We don’t shy away from bluntly discussing the brutal realities of today, nor are we cowed by the uniquely hysterical atmosphere me must function amidst. But, just because we report upon such outrages as war, injustice, repression and all forms of suffering, does not mean ‘we advocate using them! i We offer a forum for those we feel have something important to say, whether we agree with them or not. ‘The fact that our literature is s0 often confiscated and destroyed by prison authorities is more a reflection of their ignorance of the laws pertaining to frec speech and their fear of the truth. Words and ideas ‘can be powerful and repression and censorship are but reactive admissions of that. But, ideas are not “dangerous” even as vaguely defined by prison rules. They are protected by the Constitution, as countless court cases have confirmed. So, we will continue to provide these publications to prisoners — regardless of the difficulties we, our collaborators and our readers may be forced to endure. We do this because. of our respect for humanity and our revalsion towards violence and ignorance. Each one, teach one! Anthony Rayson Curator of, P.0. Box 721 Homewood, IL 60430
An Anarchist Looks at the World ¥ By now, everybody pretty much understands that Earth’s days are aumbered due to the deadly rape and plunder, by "Man." Nobody, save for a depraved few, really wanta this to continue to accelerate. The problem is in understanding exactly what is going on and what the best way to deal with it is. The only thing that can really stop thia hell bound train is massive understanding, and coordinated motivation and action. Yet, people are paralyzed to thair lazyboys. So, hell yeah, the “prospects” look bleak! Now, think! To even attempt to get people aroused in a critical mass of eBlectiveness requires a tremendous psychological turnaround in everybody. In-place of cyaicism to serious political analysis, a fatalism, a clinging to ‘some religion, feigned (or real) apathy - all the “do nothing” arguments, must be exorcised and replaced with focused thought and action. It’s the only thing that has really worked to any significant degree in all the struggles of the past. Look at the Abolitionists in the 19% Century. It takes a transcendent effort! ‘Those that understand the situation should develop their abilities to relay this insight in such a way that anybody can understand what is being said and/or implied. It requires a genuine, solidarity-minded mindset ~ every single day. Because every single day, children are dying and people are being murdered by these tyrants! You must crawl before you can walk. You must learn to Hhink, before you can actually think & do! We can’t just run on instinet. We have to learn! 1 saw an Aristotle quote that I’liked. Eric Smith Interviews " Anthony Rayson Question #1: If Anarchism would bring out unconditional freedom, then why does society not embrace its theories? Answer: Well, that’s a complicated question with a lot of factors involved. 1would say that basically people do embrace these theories, which are really just the articulation of natural harmonious human behavior. Almost all religious teach them, commonly known 0 us as “The Golden Rule” - do unto others as you would like to see done to you. Respect each other, cooperate, share fairly, don’t be a bully, don’t steal from others, don’t coerce people into doing things they don’t want to do (no slavery be it wage, chattel, sexual, contract or prison,) You shouldn’t commit crimes, such as kidnapping, incarcerating, bombing, terrorizing, threatening, prosecuting using slave documents never agreed to, etc. Anarchism is basically the articulation of elevating in social and personal use all the good qualities of humanity - kindness, mutual aid, solidarity, direct action, hanesty, openness, inclusiveness, sustainability, and a general love and looking out for not just ‘humanity, but other creatures and our anarchy’s opposite to these peoples — slaughter, slavery, a class and race-based hicrarchy, with cynical parchments full of lics and vagueness which their august Judiciary” could interpret any way the powers that be wanted them to. So, sadly, people in this country and pretty much throughout the modern-day world have no history or sense of what it is like to live ‘cooperatively, without a hierarchical apparatus menacing them from above. From birth they are channeled into thinking life is “survival of the fittest” and that to “get ahead” they must get over on all those in their way. Al they know is this demented consumerist socicty, as they are endlessly bombarded with lies on all subjects — politics, human relations, social relations, history, everything. Citizens are them, who have different cultures, colors and interests. Our highest gnn!i:mafl.\mvhmwaddlmbuygmdlwimmdwrhumnhy and concern for people and the planet is snuffed out. Our consciences are suflocated constantly, which explains the heavy drug use, the psychosis, the unhappiness in people, the bitter self-hate and so forth.
For the ‘ideology” of America is the almighty dollar, not long- ), accepted values like humanism, faimess, sustainability, equality, justice, etc. We have been robbed of our humanity, as the moorings to them have been ripped from us since day one, much like the foreskin of so many baby boys. We are products of our environment. It’s hard to have a history of cooperative, anarchist community when we are all atomized in our homes or apartments and our parents are forced to slave all day to provide food, clothing, housing, utilities, etc. No one has time to be a human being and what little time we have is sucked into highly addictive, yet malodorous behavior, such as violent movies, games, and schemes to rip people off and 0 on. ‘There’s no real “gutonomous zones” for people to latch onto for something different and viable. School teaches kids to can’t stand to learn more than anything. It’s such boring bullahit, plus it starts the tracking process to various roles ~ bourgeois sellouts, working stiffs or for the darkly complexioned &/ or rebellious - prison. This lifelong process of destroying each person’s initiative and natural desire to learn and grow is planned to do exactly what it does. Children are dying to learn anything and everything and do an amazing amount of it in the home. But you take them into these miserable schools, amidst often horrible neighborhoods, etc. and they puke it all up. Helf the students drop out in high school because it is 8o horrible. Halfl For, they are taught the lies and bullshit that those who control education want them to learn, not what they genuinely need to know for their real development. 3 Anarchy is never taught in schools. If it is mentioned, it is as a quickly dismissed aberrant, violent, dangerous and suicidal form of evil thinking that advocates “chacs.” Bibles and mainstream social studies, self-help type books and pamphlets are everywhere, but serious anarchist tracts are rare indeed. Sadly, many of the few anarchist publications out there are irrelevant to most peoples’ daily lives. They riff off on esoteric tangents that only a tiny cadre of anarchists would even care about. So, basically, people aren’t embracing anarchist thinking because they have no idea such a thing even existsl The ones that have run across a decent piece of it hiave been impressed. But, every single one of us bas layers and layers of baggageaf mental garbage cluttering up our minds. It’s like a bag lady’s dive inside everyone’s skulll Each person needs to embark on major peychological house People have built walls of protection for themselves. They don’t want to “go there” because it might be dangerous and scary. Its ‘scary to confront your own demons and fears of inadequacy. But see, that’s what’s 5o wonderful about anarchist thinking. It’s a plain and simple tool to use. It doesn’t demand a damned thing from youl
2 If you give it your all and become a serious Christian, god bless you, Brotherl 1 say “Brother” because they still discriminate against women! At its best, it should help you figure things out more clearly, which leads to delightful insights, which foster sclf-love, self- empowerment. Anarchist thinking is what getting to the brutal truth of reality is all about. That’s scary stuff because the state has made it very clear on endless occasions that they will kill everyone within a huge radius. They are that evil. Since the Paris Commune, an early attempt at quasi-anarchist politics and living, all such vibrant bursts of consciousness and social agitation for anarchy has been met with 2 hail of bullets and bombs, endless torture in capitalist dungeons and frequent firing squads. Kill the messenger, indeed! So who would want to stick their neck out like that, only to have them laughingly cut it off? I can’t blame people, really - especially when the few anarchists they run across have a boatload of issues, themselves. But, the point is this. Anarchist thinking and analysis has a clarity lacking in all other belief systems. The reason for this is the only real requirement s the truth, a love and respect for humanity and an unquenchable desire to bear witness to it all and participate fearlessly. We’re not asking you to listen to a politburo or any group of know-it-ell fuckers, who may even call themselves “anarchistsl” All calls are up to youl We fecl people deserve the respect of being told the truth as well as a demonstration of courage in the face of these monsters. I’ve met anarchists who I couldn’t stand - and vice versal I’ve also met some I’d go to the ends of the Earth for. No, it’s not for cverybody. But the ideas of empowering truth, sure as hell are! The “hell” is this tormented world called Earth! Therein lies the “danger” of anarchy to the authori they round up every single day! People look for homeostasis, as do all animals and life, including Earth. They want a warm place o live, with love, enough to cat, safety, etc. Even though this is a ruthlessly monstrous bloodthirsty cmpire, they’ve managed to cocoon themselves in an unaffordable debt, being homebody consumers. They watch a ton of T.V. To most People - and it is most people in the U.§. - this is all they can hope
“ for. Opening up Pandora’s Box of reality check is something to be avoided at all costs!- For, not only is the rediscovery of self thrill ride a wild one, but the authorities would like nothing better than to kill &/or torture you, if you succeed at all. Mostly, society hasn’t embraced the ideas of anarchism because they haven’ been explained well enough. They haven’t been propagated at all effectively. And, all too often, the messages discussed are all so jrrelevant to what people are being forced to deal with. For example, I’n a longtime wage-slave worker. I’m in a union and | was a steward for twelve years. 1do a lot of argument crafting on issues involving my workplace, management and the union. But, a publication like ARS (Anarcho-Syndicalist Review) however well done, and I believe it is well-done, just isn’t that relevant to working A whole new literature of rebellion — anarchist driven ~ needs to emerge and give hip-hop run for its money! Better yet, it needs to convince hip-hop to ditch the damn money and create comsciousness ‘and citizen-driven services o desperately needed in the depressed communities, which are a pre-requisite for serious social transformation. A tsunami of anti-capitalist Peoples’ education has to take shape and take hold. Anarchists and their sympathizers or friends or other social justice crusaders must o this unafraid educating - and use every ‘means poesible. It’s happening, mostly on the internet. But that’s ‘missing s0 many people, who don’t have access to it or don’t know ‘where to look, don’t have the time (or patience) to fool with it, etc. Most people have busy lives they’re running around trying to deal with. They don have time to be a computer geek all the time. Anarchists need to go back to that tried and true method of education - actually writing the thrilling analysis of current eventa and mentoring folks into real ways of thinking - and making them available on paper! But, so few anarchists actually do that. It makes me angry that anarchist literature, which there is a wonderful supply of, is all too often, only available to a select few people, instead of passed out to daily commuters or something. But, ‘anarchists are like everybody else. Most of them don’t do anything and only a few are dedicated as you would think any anarchist worth his or her salt should be, but haplessly aren’t. We’re all flawed but you can will yourself to effectiveness, which some anarchists are willing to help you with. Everybody is at a different stage of conscious development. Prison is & great example. You have the totally illiterate and the unmistakably brillient. Both, if they’re thinking right, yearn to learn. By showing these people genuine humanity and an honest respectfulness, you two can begin to educate each other! Herein again, lies the alarm bells going off in the jailer’s heads. First and
s foremost, they do not want their slaves anything but ignorant and intimidated and docilized. If they have to pin them down and inject them with drugs, theyll do it. If they have to taser, beat or even kill them, they o it! It’s a battle of will - good vs. evil & the truth vs. lars. Question #2: Local judges and prosccutors are elected into their positions by voters, who essentially, are pro-state and government. These judges and prosecutors in return, promise to do things for a vote, 50 how can anyone expect to obtain justice? If judges and prosecutors are granted immunity from their decision-making, don’t these immunities perpetuate corruption and differeatial troatment? If these judges and prosecutors are mot held accountable, who is? How does an anarchist battle such power? Especially, a poor prisoner? Answer: Some judges are rubber-stamped by old, conservative voters, this is true. Most judges and prosecutors are appointed. There’s a big “law enforcement” buddy system, which has tentacles in every realm - government, the military, the schools, churches, and elsewhere, where these people are groomed for these positions. Law schools, Ivy League type schools, stints in the military or the police, school administration, ctc. these are the types of people who end up as judges and prosecutors. They come from the upper class or with their approval. ‘The elections are rigged, trite occasions where horrible candidates are the only ones available for positions in horrible institutions, such &s the judiciary and the legislature. Police are elected, sometimes, t00. The votes are all for show, the outcome has already been determined. Like the Chicago Bears, it docsn’t matter who the quarterback s, the game will still be played the same way. Is this rigged system conducive to “justice?” NO! Of course not, but then, it never was. Its just another claborate well-refined lic that they use to attain complacency and acquicscence - that and cameras everywhere, cops with guns everywhere and hideous prisons everywherel So, you can hope for justice and strive to attain justice and fight for justice but it’s a waste of time expecting: it ‘Their own laws and rules can sometimes be used against them, as they flaunt and violate them routinely. Occasionally, you can convince a judge to rule according to the rules in your favor, but it almost invariably takes an incredible amount of time, money and effort, which they make it exceptionally difficult for poor people to muster, much less prisoners, especially indigent ones.
[ Prisoners do what they can from what I’ve seen. Many ¢ concentrate on studying the law, learning how to write writs and ‘mount procedural and court challenges. They try to solicit support from outside sympathizers by describing their situation, writing essays, drawing graphics, etc. 1 don’t know what all else prisoners can do — hunger strikes, other actions. There’s no question many of you have been railroaded in the first place, have been set-up while in prison and so forth. It’s an’ endless litany of abuse and the breaking of their own laws and rules By the authorities. They make everything be forcibly fnneled through their corrupt game, where smarmy lawyers play their expensive roles - and they are just roles - they get paid for *expertly” Iying! Judges and prosecutors have immunity, but defense attorneys don! They have the whole weight and all the resources of the state, ‘which is endless as they steal enormous amounts in taxes every single year, and the defense has nothing. They can threaten you with all these horrible outcomes - prison, probation, forced labor, fines, ete. if they “win® and you can do nothing to them if you “win® except eventually maybe procuring your “freedom” or winning a judgment, which is 0o skin off their nose, nor will it adversely affect their career one iota. Al the monies paid out are from stolen monies they lifted from (mostly) working people, anyway. When they spend too much, they cut vital services &/or raise taxes. So, they never “lose” even when they lose. They may lose the gravy from one previously held captive, but they are loathe and ever so reluctant to admit any ‘mistakes or release any captives “prematurely.” They are in the punishment industry business and most certainly it’s corrupt as hell and they play favorites. The rich and even yuppies who commit “crime” (drug use for example) first, aren’t gone after. If (rarely) caught they’re nat prosecuted. A “deal” is made, instead. Poor people without connections to make these *deals” get prosecuted and constant expansion. The raw materials needed are human beings. It’s & sort of slow death human sacrifice for profit scheme. It’s wildly profitable and these profits are guaranteed and risk-free. All monies for all aspects of this scheme are paid for through taxes. More and ‘more, it is true, private prisons are cropping up, but they are also coddled and protected by the “laws” and the authorities and squeeze. their profits out too, often at the expense of the well-being of the prisoners in their tomb. People must realize, and do once dragged through this diabolical ‘system, that ‘justice” under the law, in the U.S. is a ni beyond belief masquerading as something noble. It’s vile - one of the puss-filled abcesses of this society. * For, they are not held accountable and how could they be? Let’s not forget: they are the gatekeepers for monstrousness. They
n “legitimize® human slavery, genocide around the world, mass hope-killing ghettos, the wasting of young lives suckered into the imperialist military — all of it! How do they do this? By “interpreting” the Constitution! This is a document lording over us that not one of ’us agreed to and which to this day sanctions human slaveryl So, ‘we’re dealing with a slave-driven legal system and by their convenient definition, slaves have no legal rights! ‘Theyve refined it and have the game down pat. Their police forces prisons, in the factories, all over. - The game is set in a familiar pace, blah biah blah, do you have a lawyer, do you have money, here’s your sentence. It’s not meant to provide ustioe® because every single outcome is unjust! Even if you are ruled innocent of whatever “crime” you were accused of, you were forced through their hideous system. You weren’t judged by your peers or cven accused by them! 1t was all orchestrated from above with these very same - beyond accountable - police, judges and prosecutors. YouVve already paid dearly in time, money and a total disruption to your life. If found ‘massive, daily, horror show genuine crime of capitalist incarceration. Even if you were guilty of a real crime, forcing you to be a victim of government crime every day does nothing to deal with your crime, much less the causes of it or any other crime. So, the whole process Anarchists and poor prisoners must understand this and leave no stone unturned describing the truth of the situation and the criminality of the government. Even a losing court case or whatever, can be & highly valuable learning experience for those involved and others who are educated by scrupulous reporting by anarchists about the whole sordid process. As we go along, we need to educate people into anarchist ways of thinking, i.e. looking at the situation at need to lose all respect and fear of government. You can’t give ‘credence to bullies and perverts! 1 you lose a court case, more battles await you. You must battle no matter what is happening because the whole mess is still 1o conditions for struggle, you must create them.* We have to be ‘accountable for ourselves, our fellow captives and otherwise oppressed Sisters & Brothers and go day to day dealing with whatever comes at us. They may not be accountable, nor is their evil system, but we can and should be accountable as far as what we can see, say, think and do. By being this way as opposed to those fat credibility and their lack of it. It helps more peopie lose the grip mhnmmmmnmzy.mjmmm Once we get
enough people to lose all respect for their disgusting power, we can put it to death, once.and for alll 7 So, there’s no magic formula for individual case by case success. If you do study their game and play it well enough to win a case, you can piss them off and they may target you again. After all, they dont have to worry about accountability, no matter how criminal their actions become. Just look at the constant police murdering that is quickly ruled ustifiable” by other police! So, there’s no real “victories” just the satisfaction of fighting these creeps. But! Work like you are doing in the trenches of the dungeons is invaluable, not only in educating others on how to challenge them at their own game, but also how to look at things. These informative ‘works you’ve put together (which you have unloaded on me) are important contributions not only to the jailhouse lawyers among us, ‘but also to anarchist thinking! So, Bravol to you for having the courage and anarchist wherewithal to deal with these Kiansters all get it all worked up, I’m sure it will be very beneficial to people. Anarchism is like other belief systems. It is what people who profess to believe in it say, think and do. So it is up to us to outdo everybody else, which greatly enhances the credibility of it as a belief system. By continuous effort at a high level, we create a body of serious argumentation. At this stage of ignorance and atomization, it is job one, in my opinion. A good anarchist battles the power and ‘works with poor prisoners doing it. ’As things worsen, which they o doubt will, what anarchists have been saying will no longer seem outlandish, but rather, very succinct. As we write and battle our message gets clearer and more recognized as the truth. The injustice of it all is still there. It’s the reality of our modern day, global situation. We need to continuously be there for people, who in their desperation are crying for such awareness. We can’t leave it up to anybody else — even other anarchists. We must rely upon ourselves and instill that bedrock sense of self-reliance in others, regardless of what they do with it, becanse as anarchists, we are confident that the more truly honest, serious and truth-seeking they become, the more *anarchistic” they become as well. Respect for humanity means speaking truth to power, whicl takes alot of courage. This is what electrifies people! It is how anarchists ‘battle. Question #3: Is there really any difference between a Democrat or a Republican? If they have everything so figured out for the people, then why do we bounce back-and-forth between Democrat and Ropublican leaders? Why hasa’t an Asarchist ran for president in order to really make a difference, or at least to give some protections to the people? If an independent party cannot prevail, what does this say about the system?
Answer: " ‘There are significant differences between Democrats and Republicans. They are both usually, pompous, ugly, fat, white old men, but Democrats try to sexually abuse young women and girls, whereas the Republicans generally prey upon young men and boys. Both whore themselves out to the major corporations and genocidal, ssweatshop “foreign policy.” Republicans are more candid about their reactionary proclivities, whereas Democrats hypocritically feign interest in issues of concern to working people. Both have sold their souls to the devil and have willingly conceded their lives to a disgusting and corrupt legacy. They are human-like embodiments of the ugliness that is systematized inequity. There is very little difference between them. They both love «cops and prisons and fat envelopes of cash. ‘They are 50 similar as corporate parties, that their parts are casily interchangeable. Once one group gets in, shortly thereafter their failures and scandals disgust even the minority of people over eighteen who actually vote. So they vote the other party in, which proves equally disastrous and so on and so forth. But, the rigorous strictures of the system, disallows for other parties. It’s extremely difficult for other parties to even get on a ballot. For example, the Green Party in llinois needed 25,000 signatures to get on the ballot, but the Democrats & Republicans only needed 1,500 With the electorate politically brain dead as demonstrated by their ‘willingness to participate without much to say in this. charade, and most people too turned off or disgusted by it all to even be registered 10 vote, a “third party” doesn’t have a chance - unless they can pull a fast one of, all the while counting on the obliviousness of the electorate, the media and o on. For example, a few years ago, the LaRouchics were able to sneak a couple of candidates through the primary in Illinois, because they were hiding as Democrats and weren’t outed as LaRouchies until after they had won the primary. The guy running for governor had a LaRouchic as a running mate. It was pretty funny! But even if those nuts or any other 3 party candidates got elected, as has rarely happened here and there, nothing would really change. As they came to Washington or Springfield or wherever, the system would still be embedded. Lobbyists working for large corporations guide the debate on who gets the stolen tax monies. Like the judiciary, the legislative farce is also a criminal game, and especially as it gets into the executive level, quite often a ‘highly deadly game. Look at this horrible genocidal Iraq War. The Republicans worked up all the lies and launched this massive bloodletting. The Democrats got elected to end it, but once in, decided they couldn’t do anything about it. They even increased the amount of soldiers and now Bush wants 200 billion $ more, which the auisline Demncrats will sive him
See, these alcoholic letches, who have these titles, have been groomed to live this pampered, mega-whore life. Even “third” party candidates have been corrupted by.the excitement of the “corridors of power.” Thic real lions of the people are with the people ona 2.0 grassroots level. For, participation in this process is an admission of surrender to corruption, criminality and power. No way in hell would an anarchist ever run for president or any other goddam officel It’s the antithesis of what an anarchist believes. We want to end these cosmic farces on the history of humanity - not participate in theml The few times anarchists have swallowed their pride and participated in governments have been disasters! We must get over the false hope that government will “protect” us! The government is what is menacing us! Our safety and prosperity can only be “guarantced” by our own conscious efforts and those we organize with. What the government is doing right now is this: stealing our money, using it to kill people in Iraq and Afghanistan, sending ever more people into the hideous prisons, protecting big business, shredding what few “rights” we have left, etc., ctc. How is that “protecting” us? When a voice s raised against this juggernaut of greed and vice, like the milquetoasty Paul Wellstone, he mysteriously dies on the eve of an election in a plane crashl All that change” means in this sick system is even more goddam laws are written. That’s it! All the crime previously committed by the government and all the terrible things it is doing now and will do is not even worth a speeding ticket. It’s allowed to happen even if it succeeds in doing what it is headed to do - destroy the Earth itselfl That’s our “protection!” It says that the system is pure, cosmic level crime that humanity needs to end to have a chance at a future, much less a society of peace, freedom and justice. Question #4: Do taxes by the controlling masses (government] Pperpetuate the monetary system? With our science and technology today, why do we need a monetary system? Why can’t we all just work jobs 5o people can just have what they need and want? The Amish do it! Answer: Yeah, taxes play a big role. Its how government gets its money to buy all this misery. We live in what has been called *hyper” capitalism. The difference between the salaries of CEO’s and wage- earners is astronomical - way worse than any other country. All the laws, the police, the courts, the prisons, the armies, all of these systems are in place to keep the system in place. The system works for the aggrandizement of the already rich. Those people who control
21 the levers of power like the system the way it is. It affords them a life of leisure and affluence, while doing lttle or no real work. They ‘They did not erect this elaborate system of lies and theft using genocide, slavery and constant murder, just so logic could poke it’s ‘unwelcome head in and propose a sane alternativel? Yes, most certainly we could change things 8o people could work mare meaningfully and equitably, but that’s not what the evil bastards who run the show want to see happen. And it won’t happen unless we samehow stop them from calling the shots. They are drunk on power . and greed and will not voluntarily give up the “reins of state.” They don’t care that to keep it going they feel compelled to munder s0 many ‘and make suffer 80 many. They are beyond amoral, so arguments to do the bumanistic thing mean nothing to them. They are killers. As for the Amish, they have maintained a relative autonomy, although their politics are rather primitive and drenched in consumerist, Britney Spears vacuous social system we are not rebelling against yet. The Amish aren’t anarchists, nor do they threaten the system at all, 0 by leaving them alone, the government gets to say, “Seel We could be fucking with them, but we aren’t. Therefore, we have the greatest country in the world!® Sheesh! Question #5: Ifa revolution comes sbout, how will we protect oursclves from the government and State? I mean, they possess ‘weaponry such as missiles and metal piercing rifies like he AS- 50. How do wo get a hold of such equal fire power? Iwant to bo able to point back whatever they point at me. Answer: Revolutions don’t come out of nowherel As the social reality deteriorates and people necessarily.get more conscious and organized, community organizations get stronger and more militant. Government corruption azid brutality increases, outraging citizens, including police and military forces. Look at Iraq. They have infiltrated the police and military forces, have bought or stolen stockpiles of weapons and turned them against the U.S. forces. As the government knows 1o other “argument” other than brute force, they lose the allegiance of the people. Without that, they can’t ‘command citizens to kill other citizens. However, as they are also doing in Iraq, they employ private armies — hired killers - ‘mercenaries. These indoctrinated fascist death squad forces are ‘among the most evil, sinister, criminally psychotic people on Earth. Their job is to torture and kill. This is who the government will rely ‘more and more on.
More and more people need to understand what they are up against and organize accordingly. I don’t know what it will take for the people to come to,these inevitable conclusions. Maybe it will be mass arrests and Marshall Law. Maybe a movement will spring forth that captures the imagination of the people and provides real 23 direction against the government. Maybe it will be a sort of new World War, I don’t know. Maybe another warldwide depression or ‘natural catastrophes will set things in motion. Each person needs to deal primarily with themselves and their families first and foremost. They need to overcome their fear and. lethargy and learn what it means to give a damn about those around them and be involved in what is happening. It’s next to impossibie to really “protect yourself” from those determined to do you harm, especially a government s organized and deadly as what we are dealing with. We need to rely on collective security, but first we must learn how to build it so it is functional and reliable. We can be catious and careful not to expose ourselves to undue harm, but you can’ let this paralyze your life or activities. No matter how careful you try to be, you can be targeted or the victim of random violence, an accident or whatever. Every minute procrastinating is a wasted minute of a finite life. Don’t waste time. Your best protection is your conscious awareness about what is happening around you and why. Then you can devise responses to various threats. It’s hard to envision what new forms of resistance will take place and what will be effective. 1 would think that the anarchist idea of affinity groups would be important. Autonomy of action is hard to climinate. If there are no “leaders* where do the authorities go to cut the *head” off of a movement? Along with all this actual resistance to what will amount to government war on its own people, will be the conscious media war. We have to unmistakably cover what s going on and analyze it ‘honestly and thoroughly. People need to know what is going on without any ambiguity or hesitance. This of course, is hardly the case these days as “opposition” to this beyond evil government is still 50 tepid and apologetic. People don’t realize they would just as soon shoot you as listen to (and ignore) what you have to say. Question #6: Pacifiem and peaceful protesting seems to never Answer: They like to pretend that it doesn’t bother them, but look at how they have responded to “peaceful” protests lately. They often
Out-number the protesters and they are armed to the gills! Just a hmmmmuffim—iflnlflwmhmimfi Irag. Now that we know it was all a vicious lie and still drags on, the %mmwmmwmmfluofl common Americans. Seeing their neighbors out onthe 273 neighborhoods picket lines with their anti-war signs asking them to honk, slowly got them to scc who was in the wrong here. It didn’t take violence — except the endless violence of government killing innocent civilians all the time, which also got thousands of Americans killed and many tens of thousands injured. The home front is sinking like that bridge in Minneapolis, because these ‘morons are wasting all the fruits of our labor to fund the gruesome bloodletting in Iraq instead of dealing with our problems at home. The only thing the government is willing to pour money into domestically is the police and prison apparatus. It’s sickening! Muny people are likewise sickened by the reality they see every day, but have nowhere to go to do anything about it. They don’t know that the key to their life lies within themselves. They don’t know their lives could be immeasurably enriched by finding and collaborating with people, just like them, who have taken the extra step, two or three and gotten pro-active somehow. They’re still bitter done them from every angle. They’re still tied down by a cobweb full of lies and self-helplessness. They’re under the influence of drugs - the TV, the radio, the newspapers and other lic-based visual ‘bombardments. ‘They acoept the dreadful belief that there isn’t anything you can do about it. They’re “peaceful” so peaceful they are letting the government chew them up and spit them out and make a shambles of their life. - But, the government is not peaceful. They kill, kidnap and incarcerate. They torture and evict. As the government gets more aggressive and turns on their own people, people will get more aware as they get burned and theyll also get more vocal and physical. 1ts sad whenever anyone gets hurt or killed, but the actions of this government make it inevitable. To end it once and for all, requires Mmfihmfleflmmfirfllmflmmmmh mmmlhflng—mmlfimufiuymn—um the hard core fascists. 1don’t know. 1 detest violence and can’t get into mounting any interest in learning how to be violent to stop violence. But many ‘people already are schooled in violence, cither taught how to maim and kill by the government or as they tried to survive in dangerous environments. It’s not my thing, but somebody is going to have to
You can be very militant and impacting on other “fronts” such as through the battlefield of ideas. You can act as a support network to the Brothas and Sistas who are carrying the load, physically. 24 [Everyone has a talent that will come in handy when nip comes to tuck. Our job is to learn how to maximize that usefulness and learn ’how to work together for the common good. Violence is all around us. The government causes endless gruesome death and eternal damnation (depleted uranium) every single day, all over the world, and here at home. The criminalized and refuse of society engage in violence, as does the police, at alarming levels ~ spawned by a demented, ultra-anxious populace. Murder rates, suicide rates, rape — all kinds of serious crime are at high rates in the U.S. compared to other capitalist Euro-type countries. ’fl:-ynunnz-mdn\unvinlmwmthmr.chmq‘- in pearls and gold. It’s that disgustingly simplel Remember, it has aluways been a settler occupation of genocide and slavery — and these most horrible tactics of State are still used today - with the otherwordly destructive power they have painstakingly accumulated The technology of mind-altering and somnolence has gone ultra- high tech, tool The best Nazis teamed up with homegrown fascists to create the no-think hybrid we see today. All these tools are made to get citizens to basically police themselves and to either believe the drivel they promote or do nothing about it. Inside and out, they want to nip courage and insight in the bud! Whatever happens, happens every day, anyway. We must study and learn and teach and participate in events every single day. We need to help each other get up to sauff, which to many, is a long ways away. Treat every Brother & Sister out there as your own blood relative. You take these people under your wing and teach them ‘what they need to know. Look after them and look after and educate ‘yourself, too! Al too soon reality will hit all of s in the face without any going back. We must prepare ourslves in order to have a chance at surviving, much less thriving. Problems don’t go away because we don’t like the gravity of them. They can get worse, though! Now, 1 know that’s impossible to do - treat everyone like your “Brother” or “Sister.” 1 think people should be given a chance, at least. Those you don’ like after you see them in action a little, you don’t have to like (or even deal with, really.) But, you’ve got to keep trying and pushing the struggle forward - keep pushin’ Question #7: The government is in debt - a trillion dollar something debt! At what amount docs a government become ‘bankrupt, and what consequences should people expect from wuch a debt?
Answer: 25" ‘The government - at least this ’only super-power’ government - craps out when and only when its own people decide it is no longer worth propping up. We owe Japan a trillion, too, don’t we? We owe China, Vietnam - all the countries we destroyed and drew slaves and ‘sweatshop labor from, all the death squad dictatorship fascist governments we trained, supplied and otherwise supported. We owe the wholg world pretty much everything! But since the U.$. government can destroy everything at a moment’s notice, it ‘lackmails the world, economically. “The magic of the marketplace” and the “supply and demand” blather of capitalism is only respected by U.$. corporations and their government, if these corporations are given undue advantage to profit. I they don’t get their way economically by threatening to ‘bomb, they just go ahead and actually bombl They have no intention of paying any “debt.” ‘When Clinton *paid off the federal debt” guess how he did it? He squeezed it out of the taxpayers! Welfare was eliminated, 100,000 ‘more police were added, the prison population practically doubled, 500,000 - 1,000,000 Iragi children were snuffed out, Serbia was han‘llflSMhoknflbmfllpnflhh!heridebfle]ohfl ’were NAFTA-ed out to Mexico and then China, thousands died of starvation daily, etc., etc. yet he is known as & *humanitarian!” Anyway, it is up to Americans to do something about it. Helll We sure know all about “debt” secing as so many of us are mired in it ‘We usurp 25 - 30% of the world’s resources, having but 4.5% of her ‘population, yet we’re still all in debt! ‘What’s wrong with this picture? The problem, which 1 keep saying, is a lack of understanding of who is causing the problems! We let government get away with being finally had enough and call a general strike, then we can deal with the debt. It will be pitched ot with the fecal bath water Uncle Sam has been s(h)itting inl The world’s resources must be pooled and ‘shared equitably, with those in most need being taken care of first. ‘The economic crime of not paying back debts will be ignored by Um&mhlfihmmmmfinfllum!flwyw As for bankruptcy, the U.S. has long since demonstrated itself as being morally bankrupt and worthy of nothing but contempt and dissolution. People need to look at the whole, real picture and take their blinders off. Read some Thoreau if you have any illusions about ‘what government s truly all about. Question #8: America did not have its first police foroe until 1844 In Now York. Such a’fofce was created by Sir Robert Peel in 1829 in Leadon, England. From the day Columbus discovered America ia the fiftcenth century till 1844, America scemed quite capable of policing thomselves. So then, what was the purpose of eveating the nalice?
Answer: The country may not have had police, but they did have militias, vigilante groups, military troops, etc. They did the job of police - go out and kill people (Indians) round up escaped slaves, crush 2.4 rebellions, enforce capitalism (il strikers, etc.) They gave people plenty of lecway as far as punishing or killing their slaves and ‘workers. The Pinkerton’s were like private police hired by companics to break strikes and kill workers. So, as the country grew and the population grew, they wanted an everywhere domestic occupation force to do the hidding of slavers and capitalists. These evolved into police forces of various levels. ‘Their jobs are still pretty much the same ~ protect the property of the rich, who they helped to steal the land and insure the profitability of their operations, in the first placel They’re supposed to keep the rabble down and unable to mount any serious challenge to this type of rule. With the changing conditions, such as the technology and giobal sweatshop economy, many of the most rebellious and unwanted (read: young male, mostly urban Afrikans) are only useful to the slave ‘economy as actual prisoner slaves. The police play a huge role in this explosive domestic “industry.” So, as before their role was to capture and return *cacaped slaves” back to the plantations, nowadays, they capture “gang members” and take them to the ‘modern-day siave plantations — thy nation’s prisons. The police are all about “law enforcement.” The laws are written by the rich people lawyers to insure things stay the way they are and that those who do get punished are the poor ~ especially the ones with protective melanin in their akin. They keep a lid on this horrible country on a day-by-day basis. Like Mayor Richard J. Daley once explained: “The police aren’t there to create disarder, they ace there to preserve disorder!” Question #9: An anarchist man or woman targets and kills government officials, leaders, agents and cops in his or her own ‘way to abolish government. Murder or hero? Answer: Well, this actually rarely ever happens that an anarchist does target an official. Overwhelmingly, it is the other way around - government targeting anarchists or any number of innocents. It depends I guess. When that monster, American-lsracli gunned down all of those lalamic worshippers, those who did overwhelm and idll him were definitely heroes. They stopped further certain senseless slaughter. And I can sec how Alexander Berkman wanted to go and personally kill Frick, after he ordered the Pinkerton’s to kil so many workera. But even if he succeeded in killing him, the company would have just put another pig in his place. Nothing fundamentally would have changed.
‘When those people gave Ceaucescu and his wife a quickie trial and execution, on Christmas morning no less - I thought it was great! But, another hoirible regime was quickly put into place, and the 2.9 people got 0o real relief. I’m sure the worlds people loved it when Mussolini got strung up - at last! But it was a brief moment of joy at the vanquishing of a tyrant. Crappy governments kept coming. ‘When the Unabomber killed a couple of researchers or whatever they were, I thought it was cruel and rotten. These small fry are not the “tyrants” who orchestrate genocide. He’s just a low-level functionary. 1 thought if you are going to g to the extent that you are willing to actually off somebody, make sure that person has been ‘personally responsible for some awful crimes of government — the policy-makers of mass murder. When that anarchist actually did kill a guy, here in the U.S. (McKinley) I think | would have been supportive of him, had | lived then, at least once he became a captive of government. But then, I’m supportive of all the captives! 1 readly, really, really don’t like it when people get needlessly hurt or killed, which is why | hate the U.$. government so much. Lone. ‘wolf rampages — even against tyrants — have no real effect on ‘abolishing government per se. Of course, that nephew dude in Nepal ‘who wasted the whole royal family with a machine gun surely put the Iibosh o that despicable ruling class! ‘Then again, as part of a fluid revolutionary situation, it is a tactic that can have effect. Sometimes it’s a matter of killing them before they can Lill youl Then, it is self-defense. But going off on your own against who ever, usually someone not that important, as the real big fish are so protected, doesn’t have much effect. It’s more a cry of isolation and frustration. It also gives the authorities a good excuse to crack down on his or her comrades. So, these isolated attacks.end up getting comrades captured, because thiey didn’t know what was going to come down and were caught before they could protect themselves from capture. Each case is different. If the person does it as part of a revolutionary strategy and not just some spasm of revenge or something, it pre-supposes that this person has thought out the possible consequences. Such people as Russell Maroon Shoats and Ojore Nuru Lutalo have made these types of choices — and have spent decades in horrible supermax hellholes because of it. I consider them to be freedom fighters and very brave. They not only gave their whole life for the cause of liberation, but it’s a slow, painful daily death they must endure. I’m waiting for anarchists to have the courage to do basic argument crafting, printing and distributing of relevant anarchist literature. I’m tapping my foot, impatient for them to give presentations, screen films and organize discussions and actions. And 1 don’t mean just with other anarchists. | meen with real people, ‘whether in school, in the military, on the job, on the street or in the clink. Let’s kill this beast with the unmistakable truth!
Question #10: What is the libertarian objection to anarchism? Answer: 1 believe in England, “libertarian” and “anarchist” are pretty synonymous terms. “Libertarians in this country are like far-right- Republicans. They believe in the Constitution and they love liberty. They hate government interference in their lives. But the problem is the Constitution is a slave document. So, they believe in slavery, whereas anarchists are anti-slavery. 28 Libertarians believe in capitalism, which is a system of economic slavery. Chattel slavery was also form of capitalism. They just do not like government interfering in their affairs. They think they should be allowed to do what they want without regulation or any other type of government bullying. But, they really don’ care about people who don’t concern them, such as targeted Afrikans. So, they’re cool with inequality and capitalist exploitation of workers, here and abroad. They don’t like government and police interference in their affairs. Well, who does? They liken these intrusions to “communism.” True, communist governments surely have meddled heavily in peoples’ lives and it’s always been terrible. “Democratic” governments are no less brutal to their own people, quite often. They just don’t bother to look at the whole picture. They don’t have the empathy and caring for other people that anarchists profess to have. Real anarchists who put their beliefs in practice can’t stand injustice and want all government and authority to be climinated. Anarchism celebrates the salt of the Earth. Libertarianism wants to keep their privileged position without being messed with, hardly a noble cause. Anarchy calls for every single person to not be menaced by government and allowed o do their own thing ~ s long as they do not infringe on the lives and rights of others. Libertarians are of the bourgeois class and anarchy is with the proles and unemployed, the downtrodden and incarcerated, the migrant worker and the drifter. Anarchy is for everybody who wants to live a real life and be willing to fight for it. Anarchy is for those who want to embrace the truth - and all the danger that this may bring. Anarchy is concerned about the fate of humanity and goes to bat for the sake of humanity, even though they know they will be pilloried for it. It’s all about love and all about respect for life — not privilege. Libertarians want to get back to “Jeffersonian democracy.” Anarchists want world-wide revolt and the end 1o all government and authority. Jeflerson was a slave-owner. Anarchists are anti-slavery. Truth, freedom, justice, liberation! Thanks for asking me these questions, Brother! Take carel So. ) ABC Zine Dietro Chicago A P.0. Box 721 Homewood, IL 50430
Let’s Read the Daily Paper I’im going to comment on & few of the stories and features in today’s Chicago Sun-Times. I¢s Wednesday, November 7%, 2007. 29 “T’m Ready To Go’ is the headline. Former Governor George Ryanis 10 report to prison today, for a long litany of corruption. He calls ita “10-year nightmare.” That’s kind of furmy because I co-founded a group called STAND) (Shut This Airpost Nightmare Down) “The folks around Peotone have been menaced by this ‘airport” the airlines ot want, for four decades. Among other crooked Ilinois politicians, we can “thank” George Ryan, who smuck a “landbanking” scheme on to the mega-pork barrel “Ilinois First” package that the sycophantic legislature passed without problem, all the while extolling George as the greatest. Our communities are now partially destroyed. But, he wasn’t even charged with anything about allthat! Poor George, Mr. Magoo himself,is going down. He’s a victim of the government but he hurt a lotof ool He also wasn’t even charged in the buming deaths of the six children. On page 2, it previews the “We Think” editorial. “Pakistan’s leader takes wrong turn - we can’t convert an entire country to our sense of " This insinuates that ‘our sense of democracy” is a good thing and that the Pakistanis are somehow immature or defective for not ‘wanting to be like us! How diseased this thinking traly is! Our great ‘democracy” gives the world an overdase of the seven vices onasilver platter. Supposedly, everyone should “convert” to: gluttony, endless corruption. Le’s not forget genocide, lately against Muslims! But, what can you expect from a lie-based educational system that extols 2 slave document, never agreed to, as the highest achievement of mankind?? Pidfal On pege 3, columnist Mary Milchell gels some prominent ink talking about the latest outrage by the Chicago cops - the tasering of an 82-year old woman, who the cops were sent to check on, for a “wellness” check. Well... I guess they can report tha’s she’s fine, since they weren’t able to killthe old bird, aithough she spent five says in the hospital 1f a bunch of thugs with weapons barged into your home with ‘weapons, you probably wouldn’t have the guts t confront them the way this Iady did. She held up a hammer in her frail hands. Of course, this ‘weuldn’t guarantee you wouldn’t be clubbed or shot or maced or tasered, t00. These immune-from-gennine-repercussions government- ‘paid monsters do these horrible things to people they ve already handenfied! All their crimes are ruled “justified” ~ by other cops!
Page4 is 2 full-page ad, as are roughly half the pages, Page5hasa story about the mother murdered while trick-or-treating withher 3o * children. Cameras everywhere, police everywhere, prisons everywhere - yet these things have o effect on how safe our neighborhoods are, bt rather, help to make them more dangerous! How’s “democracy?” ‘While using 30% of the world’s resources, incarcerating 25% of the ‘world’s prisoners, with but 4.5% of the world’s population, this pointless yetall too common murdering is the horrific nightmare they get in this “great” democracy. Thanks, “democracy!” Thanks for all the millionaires and billionaires, gated commaunities and corporate welfare, Thanks for the trillions spent on“defense” fuxtaposed against the numerous and huge ghettos full of despair and desperation, where life is stripped of dignity and meaning. Its where the hard drug trade is the only “economy” for so many. This year’s Afghan heroin poppy crop i the biggest i history - under US occupation! Of course, these “bangers” could get their “three hots and a cot” as prisoners. They could also enlist and kill people all around the world, as part of Cheney’s capitalist wrecking crew. This way, they would’t have to worry about getting busted. But i they get ruined ither physically or psychologically (or both) they’re on their own. Some could even become cops or prison guards, so they could still menace their own people, get paid for R, and not have to worry about being hassled about their criminal behavior. ‘What is America’s solution to her “problems?” Why, its to make more Inws! This doesn’t solve anything, but it does ensure that more ‘people will “run afoul” of the law. Puck You, Amerikal On page 6, the headline reads: “Gay pastor tests celibacy rule.” A Iady won’t take the celibacy vow, but still wants to be ordained. In the ‘wake of all the church-caused pedophili, you’d think a more honest, adult relationship would be a relief. But nope! 1ts a brouhaha. She says, “God is the actor in all this.” God is one weird dude! Actually, since people have for centuries tried to conjure him up (and put words in his mouth - and deeds on his resume) we are still left with ‘whatit s - a vast nothingness. Sorry to have to tell all you folks, but God does nothing because he is nothing. He d-0-65 n-ot ex-is-t! On page 9, Mark Brown chimes in on George Ryan, saying, “He’s confusing a clear conscience with a lack of conscience.” Well, Mark, ‘where the hell were you (and all the other mainstream media wonks and politicians) when ‘ol George was pulling off all these capers, right before your eyesI? You, after-the-fact, gutiess hypocrite! You bad rap Illinois itizens for allowing such corruption. Some of us were calling this 5.0.5. (and many others) out, as they were committing their crimes. We did the same before this horrific Iraqi War t00, but thanks to the wonders of
*democracy” the monster neo-cons waging this evil war (and the 3| clneless Democrats who approved it), we had no choice but to watch this bloodletting go ahead, now did wel? The only thing that would have stopped all this government crime would have been a successtal revolution, because obviously voting in Democras to “stop” the war is nothing but a puke-in-the- mouth joke! ‘On page 10, there’s a stury of fear-mongering by mortgage firms. By the way, America, the country’s in a housing market meltdown. Seems people can’t afford their exarbitant mortgages and are foreslosing ot & record clip. Their credit cands are maxsed out, boo. Page 15is about the sordid situation where the search is on for the missing Bolingbrook cop’s wife. He’s 34, she (was) 24. 1¢s his fourth ‘wife. Wife #3 was found dead in her bathtub, but that was “natural causes.” It painfully reminds me about the death of dear & brifliant Dylan Drapeau. He was my son’s best friend, who was killed by off-duty cop, Brian Dorian in Crete, IL on July 208, 2006. After 13 months of “investigation” by Crete police, the State police and the Will County State’s Attorney, the best they could do was totally ignore the witness, stall &...do nothing. Oh! Waita minote. Since he was estimated to be travaling between &3 and 100 mph when he slammed into a stopped Dylan, they l ssue him a speeding ticket. This is because she’s aghast at finding out her girf’s schoolin South Africa is just like any other mainstream school in the world. 1¥s a place where students are sexually, psychologically and. physically abused - all the while being indoctrinated into acqui and conforming into their decadent society. At least this piece isn’t about Oprak’s weight ballooning up and down or her relationship with her el dorko boyfriend. Page 24’s headline reads: “Judge allows bond for accused priest. Oak Lawn / Convicted of abusing boys, he faces new charges.” Yeah, well, heis a convicted child molester, but he’s a “man of the cloth” and he is “white”... Judges! Talk about child molesters! They shove kids into cages (and rape environments) on a daily basis. No wonder hey wore hoods down in Peru. Of course, they were involved in heavy conspiracy to murder, too! What horrible people they truly are! Page 26 reads: “Anti-war students protest suspensions.” Weirdly, one student’s sign reads: “Let us go to schooll” I guess they realize that suany young people who aren’t in school, end up like a lot of the homeless, veterans ahd mentaly ill - thev’re dragzed off to orison. How D.ARE. those kids have a social conscience! Apparently, they haver’t learned anything in schooll They probably dor’t even go to their school’s football games! Page 30 has a report by Lynn Sweet on Barack Obama, schlepping around in lowa. He’s gonna host a dinner for 9,000 of his minions. Talk about a cattle calll Then, he’s going on “Meet the Press.” Hey, Barack! Do you still think we may need to bomb Pakistan’s nuclear facilities in light of the latest developments from our “ally?” O will the beat down of those wild-eyed, rock-throwing lawyers be enough? Page 33 reports: “2007 Deadliest Year for U.S. Troops.” Yeah, but just think how many Iragis we killed and displaced. Another article reads: “Mukasey likely o be approved.” Well, who can really tell what the hell “waterboarding” is? could be like that case years ago where some rich dandy was convicted of getting off the hook for killing a girl in Central Park because of “rough sex.” Waterboarding could just be Uncle Sam’s ‘version of a nasty shower! Some folks may think reading this diatribe is torture. Just remember, anything the U.S. does is good, including the
prospect of World War IL. 1 think Hillary should be waterboarded for approving this auonstrous war {and for being Fist Lady when Bill was 50 “worth it snuffing out the lives of all hose Iragi children throughout the nineties) As for Madelaine Albright, put her on the starvation diet given to prisoners in the control units;courtesy.of thie *$.99 meals” ‘whipped up by Aramark. 35 Page 34 states: “Military looks to ease recruiting standards.” Gee, I don’t know if we should allow our trained murderers to have “minor criminal records.” Shoulds’t they be wide-eyed Bambis before their lives (and those of many others) are totally destroyed by the State? If this lax atttude takes hold, we could have grade-school kids with toe-nail clippers in their pockets! Page 36 depicts another imperialism-forced tragedy - starving, dying ‘people. Here’s an example of what this horrible world-wide US.- dominated system brings to Earth, 24/7. Its about a boat full of Africans trying to reach Europe, stranded in the Mediterranean. Over a third of them perished. Page 38 reads: “Afghan bomb kills 28, including children.” At first, 1 figured it was another U.S. wedding bombing or something because U’S, forces murder the vast majorlty of the people being killed over there. But it was the *enemies of peace and security” according to the U, lackey, Karzai. He’s as unctuous as any other U, puppet, but he does ‘wear the hat. Leave it to the U.S. to make the Taliban look less horrible! Pages 39 - 41 i the comumentary section where columnists, readezs ‘and editors get to chime in with their club-footed thinking. One thing Carol Marin wrote made sense. She said (talking about the corrupt mess in Springfield) “Lost with the money is faith in government works.” People need to go beyond “losing faith” in government, into seriously understanding the whole mess, genuinely educating others and formulating strategies to end governmen, altogether. People aways - ask: “What would we do with all the criminals?” What they should be asking is: “What are we doing about all the criminals who run the show, now?” OK. page 42. This is Zay N. Smith’s page. I thought he was “Black” before I saw a picture of him. Lots of prisoners think I’m “Black” too! But, I don’t call people “Black” anymore. 1 call the progeny of African ~ slaves who live (and are menaced) here, “Afrikans.” Ther¢’snosuch thing as a “white” person, either. Zay is a Euro. 4 Tlike Smith’s column kind of because he’s sarcastic and points out the absurdity of modern-day (fascist) Amerika. Of course, that’s as far as he goes — fust reporting the idiotic facts. Don’t expect any serious analysis or alternatives to this hideous reality, just a jibe here and there. ‘We’re halfway home! The second half of the paper starts with
#Showcase” Jay Z is doing the soundtrack for the new movie starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe called American Gangster. 3¢ ,its “one hell of an exciting movie.” Multi-millionaire sellout hip-hop artist (wearing an expensive suit and te) is smoking a stogie and looking cool. Too bad for young Afrikan men. The paper says, “Igriore the tired message and enjoy the hot sounds” which he’s lifting off of seventies music. ‘Yeah, ignore the violence-glorying gangbang message of what’s “cool” (which will send thousands o prison) and groove on the hedonism. Does he use his enormous income to build community i - or to support his lavish lifestyle??? The cigar smoke in the picture looks like cum on his face... Rosie O’Dannell s signing with MSNBC, so the celebrity twit, Bill Zwecker, wonders, “Is MENBC going tilt?” After all, Rosie’s a leshian against the endless bloodbath in Iraq - obviously a “loose cannon.” ‘Witers are striking, shutting down some sit-coms, including “24." This will give Kiefer Sutherland ample time to dry out in the clink and not have to worry about his alter-ego (Jack Bauer) saving the world from “terrorists” through a hip form of torture, murder and circumventing ‘wark-place policy. ‘These writers should take time to look at how awful their work has been and what effect it has had on the dumbing-down and morality-less Iives being led by the sheep who flock in front of their idiot boxes all day, every day to watch the crap they ve written. They’ve contributed ‘mightily to this degenerative culture with... sex and violence! Brilliant! Then we have the TV listing page. There are innumerable shows on television. Many people watch many of them day and night, every day of their lives. 1¢s all horrible. ‘Then the commix pages with sudoku, bridge and crossword puzzles. 1¢s much adien about next to nothing. Insanely, the commix pages have some of the “strongest” political commentary that occasionally ventures slightly outside the narrow confines of allowable discourse in Amerika. ‘Page 53 sporis: “In Society.” This is where the bourgeoisie comes out in their finery, usually for a “charity” event. s where people like Jesse Jackson, actors, actresses, politicians, rich people, etc. go to schmooze: ‘and pretend to give a damn. It another spectacle depicting how ‘brainwashed children “grow up” to become fraudulent adults. ‘Page 54 has Ellie’s advice column. 1 like Ellie because she offers ‘practical advice (usually) and advocaies common sense and respect for people. The endless referrals to “seek counseling” are worthless, as “counselors” are full of it for profit. Next o her column is the “Drink of the Week ” Hene’s the main solution to this demented society - get swazzed.
Then comes business. This reports on the latest job cuts with nary a conscience. “EA zaps local office - 146 will need new jobs as game 37 ‘maker leaves.” It could be about hundreds of thousands of jobs lost, same difference and tone of the article. s well understood that whatever corporations do with their operations (like cut jobs, move to sweatshops overseas, etc) their activities are not to be opposed, but merely reported upon. Next comes the electronics news, the advertising world and a column onlocal radio, ebiz, ads and then the weather! Now, the weather is a good page. I¢’s like math in school as opposed to “social science.” Its the only page thatis (almost) totally factual. These temperatures in all these cities are true! Of course, the forecasts can be and often ate, wrong! Nextare the stock market reports and tables. 1¥s the boring minutiac of capitalism. Appropriately, next come the obituaries. People lived and died and get a flag (veteran) or religious symbol next to their name. ‘Whata summation for a highly diminished life! ‘The rest is sports. But you go to the back of the paper and work your way backwards. Many people begin reading the paper this way (and don’t go past the sportsl) Sports occupy a huge place in the consciousness of Amerikans, especially men and boys. We’re supposed o live and die with “our” teams and really our “morality” is funneled through sports. We admire an athlete’s “work ethic” - work hard and keep your mouth shut. We don’t begrudge their astronomical salaries and even feel distress during contract squabbles involving our “heroes.” We seé them as “rolle models” even though next to none of them have an intelligent thing to say about politics, war, government, etc. Women and girls get soap operas and clothes and shopping in general. Men get sports. Anything to keep people inactive politically and willing to be pliable wage-slaves! ‘The columnists try to ingest some “morality” into their stories. But, they’ve all bought into instant acceptance of things as they are - top down hierarchy and doing what you’re told - but doing it well, without being smart alecky. What misery it all ruly, truly is! Interspersed in this section are T & A shots, ads for “Gentlemen’s Clubs” and other ads to help those suffering from “erectile dysfunction.”

Like Kissinger said about Vietnam: We should have never been there, but that’s history.” It is what it is and we gotta keep it.” “So, you’re trying to save lives. Since there’s nothing that we
can do about, and yeah, it may end up swallowing all of us up anyway, but if you challenge it, theyl just kill off everybody 44 earlier. But that gets away from the basic premise of having possession and say so in your own soul. Basically it means, you’re willing ta give up on this life in hapes you’ll get inta G past-life place known as “heaven.” But that’s no guarantce. So out of one life (maybe two, according to some ") you end up living ‘none (maybe an eternal ane?) That’s seunds ridiculous to me! Why not live the one life you know you have?” The truth can be worse than heroin. You can be killed over the truth, but you ¢an never averdese on it! I¥s like an acid trip of transmogrification. I¢1 slap you in the face, punch you in the gut and poke you in the eye! The only requirement is a willingnes o live ones owa life and be in contral of enee own soul. Don’t believe (or pretend to believe) anything that in your ‘heart of hearts, where you rely on yourself for proper decisions, you know isa’t true or don’t know if it ia true or not. And please, don’t just avoid learning about it, having to deal with it, much less truly knowing it and acting on it. These cathartic explosions occur in everybedy’s life, whether we try to delay or deny them or not. We can move forward from them, instead of getting stuck in life like a skipping record on a turntable, Trust your own humanity. Like anything elae, it needs nurturing and thought and caring and practicing — developing. Each person must teach themselves everything they need to know to understand and be themeelvea. This will make for high quality morality in people, as their strongest inclination will be to manifest itself as a consistent expression of their love — af self and others. A sane social society has these types of people intermingling with each other, without horrible coercive authority, the lies and the meaninglesaness of life. Peaple manifest their love in many different ways, plus they have the ability to analyze and reason. The different talenta cover all the bases. The onea that are ‘miased or are unpleasant, though necessary, peaple will step up and perform, as a demonstration of their love. You see a ‘problem, you volunteer to help. In turn, those volunteers bathe in the love and respect othera return to them. T’m talkin’ in a sane society!
“It’s not what it is. What it is, is this! They have the ~ 45~ clampdown pretty damn good! Everybody knows that if they try to pull something, we’ll come down hard. You’re causing your own problems. Freedom means death.” “You can’t just say, I’m the opposite of what I am! Yeah, fascism’s horrible and when people are killed by it, they stay dead. It’s beyond an indictment of government that their only real argument is murder and suffering. But, the truth is still the truth, lies are still lies, morality exists and it’s implementation is the height of human activity and some people will move forward, despite the dangers, It really is a ‘war on the truth/” ‘Things can happen quickly. Look at the dramatic increase in polar icg cap melting, the wildfires out West, the devastating tounamis and hurricanes, monsoons, floods and droughts. It’s a catastrophe! And the political, social and economic health, safoty and welfare of a bulging 6+ billion people is in the fear-filled stranglehold of 21+ Century U.S. imperialism and lesser oppressors. What’s Wrong with the Police and Prosecutors? ¢ Lately, there’s been recling barrage of stoies of police ~ Chicago police and suburban police - who have been involved in horible “incidents.” Whether it is a story, ike this morning’s paper, which reporied a Harvey cop had shot youth o death in the back, or new revelations about the policeman’s former (dcad) wife und the outrageous “findings” of the coroner / inquest of an carlier Will County State’s Attomey, in this ongoing nightmare of the Peterson family. TLook also at the Fox tragedy. Here the father was forced through the ulimate. nightmare (accusations of sexually assaulting and murdering his own daughter) plus suffering in anguish in prison, tom from at east being able o grieve for his davghicr with his painfully, devastated family...and for what —“political reasons?" How disgusting! ‘Remember those three girls in Crete, run over by that remorseless drunk? What happened to him for these ghastly crimes? The answer is next 10 nothing. The police and proseciors automatically suspect fomily members and other available-to-implicate citizens, but there’s a fip side, 0o. The police and prosecutors themselves don’t have to worry about any repercussions for heir acions, or 8 they have been shown, by their “big brothers” - the Chicago police! For, there is no accountability. As citizens, we’re at Think I’ve over-exaggerating? Check out the outcome of the Dylan Drapeas tragedy. A first the parcats wero told there wer no witacases and ho basically caused his own eath. No mention that the person who hit him was 2n offuty cop. A witness did come o Dylan’s wake. He’d given the Crete police & detaled witness statement a the e of tho accident and even drew a clear diagram of the accident (and how it happened.) This they promptly ignored. "It couldi’t ave happencd this ey "No charges were filed and the policeman involved continued to work, as if nothing had happened. The witness statement and drawing were ignored and o charges ere filed, even though the stat police determined the policeman was going between 83 & 100 mph (without any skid marks) while Dylan was stopped. With political pressure, the family was able to get reluctant Will County Sate’s Attorney office o-“investigae.”

Oh, after 13 months of this, the cop who kiled Dylan wilf be issued a ticket. So much for “justice” in modern day Americal Power i very cormupting, especially ‘when those who possess t have vigilaate atitude towards their own people: The “war on terror” is “War of terror!™ More and more the dangerous criminals amongst s are ‘wearing badges (s being proecied b others wesing desgner uits aod obosl) 4y P’m making a new anti-war sign today. Il read: “Love is the snswer ~ NOT MURDER!" Being afraid to know (and deal with) te trth, is cowardly! The Shame and Cowardice of Will County On the terrible night of July 20%, 2006, a wonderful young man, Dylan Drapeau, aged 17, was viciously killed at the dangerous intersection of 394 & Richton Road, in Crete — by off-duty Lynwood, cop, Brian Dorian. Dylan, who was stopped in the middle of the intersection, awaiting his turn, was horrificaly broadsided by Dorian, who was estimated as traveling between 83 and 100 miles per hour. Dylan was an incredibly talented, gified, clean-cut person. Dorian has demonstrated himself to be a callous, remorseless monster, basically. Even a judge, commenting on Dorian’s behavior at a hearing concerning a subsequent incident, where he is accused of assaulting a teen-aged girl, called him a “bad apple.” Dylan was treated like road kill by the Crete police, who lied to the parents that night, by telling them that there were 1o witnesses and that Dylan pretty much caused his own death. But there was a witness and he saw this whole nightmare _ unfold in front of him. He atopped, tried to help, alerted the police and gave a statement. For his civic-minded efforts, he was given the brush-off. His detailed statement (including a drawing he drew of the accident the night it happened) form the basis of a wrongful death suit brought against Dorian by the family, within a week of this tragedy.
Dorian was not given a field sobriety check and his alleged drug/aleohol test at the hospital is shrouded in mystery. The authorities clearly wanted the whole episade to be quickly 47 forgotten and uncontested. The State Police took their sweet time and determined that Dorian, although wildly speeding, did nothing else wrong. The damning specifics of the witness’s account were totally dismissed. They said, “He could have been coached.” This even though the witness told the Crete police exactly what happened right after the accident. His account has remained consistent throughout. The parents were told to take solace in the fact that the remorseless Dorian will “have to live” with causing Dylan’s death. So, the parents did what they had to do to get the Will County State’s Attorney to investigate. This took several months of frustrating and anxious days, waiting for information that was poorly provided and disrespectfully infrequent. In the meantime, Dylan’s parents also got a professor from Purdue who teaches accident reconstruction, to do a study of the accident. He concluded the witness’s account to be the most plausible explanation for how the vehicles ended up locked together, where they did. The Will County State’s Attorney refused to investigate allegations that Dorian was drinking before the accident, as had been widely rumored and suspected. They accepted the “test” that claimed he was totally clean, without question. Dylan, as we had always known, was unquestionably drug and alcohol free. After 13 % excruciatingly painful months, the Will County State’s Attorneys told Dylan’s parents that they would not prosecute Dorian for reckless homicide (much less murder) Dut rather, issue him a speeding ticket! They cited “Tilinois 1aw” blah, blah. They took the coward’s way out. They said even though this guy may very well be a monser... He is a cop and thus wasn’t genuinely investigated from the get-go by his buddies, so “under the law” he is allowed to
get away with this senseless, reckless death, with but a mere traffic ticket. Such is “justice” for the citizens of Will County. Sadly, this travesty is pandemie across the country. ¥9 Meanwhile, Dorian is still a cop in Lynwood, never having been suspended or even reprimanded for his brutal actions, but r&dwr, rallied around. ‘He has a reputation as rogue cop and vicious person. The civil suit is being held in Cook County, because Dorian lied on his driver’s license, as to his residence. He actually lives in Will County (Crete.) Dylan lies in the grave that had been meant for his grandmother, over in Indiana. The system allows for child- murder by cop, without serious repercussions. To their credit, Crete-Monee High School, where Dylan had been at or near the head of his class, was host to a 1. month memorial rally on August 20t, 2006. Also, at this year’s commencement ceremonies, where Dylan would have graduated, to a no doubt stellar future, he was awarded a posthumous high school diploma. A scholarship was set up in his name and given to the 2007 Valedictorian. So, what can be done in the wake of this unspeakable loss and disgusting official cowardice? Well, I could tell you the “laws must be changed” 80 a vicious crime like this can be prosecuted in Illinois, when committed by a policeman or some other person with political and legal connections. And, 1o doubt, a stop light or sign should be erected immediately on 394 at Richton Road, as they are on the intersections north and south (Steger Road & Exchange Avenve.) This ‘would minimize future injuries and deaths there. But, I don’t really see that as a real “solution.” I agree with Thomas Jefferson. When a government turns on its own people, they are obliged to get rid of it. ~ Anthony Rayson “It is the characteristic of the most stringent censorships that they give credibility to the opinions they attack.” ~ Voltaire ~

Greetings from the Gulags! s It’’s my honor to represent prisoners at this rally. First, let me read you a little letter from a conscious sister, Tami, which sums it up. It was in the Sun-Times a couple of weeks ago. Burden Left on Women This has been happening in the black community for years. Our young men are being taken away from us on trumped-up charges and no one does anything about it. Women wonder where all the good men are and the sad thing is most of them are in jail. And we as women are left to raise men. Tami Incarceration is a crime against humanity. This evil daily torture is what happens after the cops kidnap a certain some of our youth off the streets and force them through the crime of being railroaded through their injustice system! Government is massive, organized crime! The U.S. Constitution is a slave document and always has been! Not one of us has ever genuinely agreed to abide by it. It’s been shoved down our throats since day ome! The 13% Amendment sanctions human slavery for prisoners, who by their definition - have no rights. From chattel slavery to peonage, prison slavery, Jim Crow, sweatshop slavery, imperialist occupations, genocide and to the police staté we see today, the major suit and tie criminals have always told the cops who to menace in order to keep this system of murder and theft in place. Dick “Tater” Daley is the most dangerous dude in town!
Street crime is a direct function of st systemic inequality. A billionaire deprives a million pecple of $1,000 each, which they could sorely use! So now who do you think gets shoved into a cage? Is it the billionaire or some poor Afrikan? Drug abuse is a serious social problem, whether the drugs are legal or not. The state aggravates the problem by criminalizing some of them and capitalizing on their selected suppression &/or regulation. The laws are used to threaten people with. This year’s Afghani heroin crop is the biggest in history, under Bush’s bloody occupation. Poverty and suffering drive its cultivation and its consumption! Prisoners are teaching and learning the truth, which is the last thing the enslavers want to see happen. We must also learn by working closely with the Prisoners are still part of our community. They can’t just steal them! They’re our Brothers and Sisters and they see the true face of Ameriklan fascism on a daily basis. Their fight is our fight, for we’’re all on tight security in this demented, locked- down, criminally-run country! Free the EL Norte 2.3 million! ~ Anthony Rayson ~

Three planets were close together in the sky, 8o I drove south a mile to a wide open field to have a 1ook see. It was so nice and quiet, I could hear my footsteps clearly. An
owl was hooting, nearby. At least be was awake, tool couldn’t see the ‘planets, which were close to the horizon, but not because of pollution or “light pollution.” Tt was just kinda hazy that morning. 8o, 0ff to my inane job I duly trudged. T put my little Sony tape player on the coat hook and played Laura Nyro, like I do almost every morning, firat off. I’m atil waking up and her beautiful voice reminds me of my wifl, who also has’a glorious voice. So, ite kinda like T still in bed with her. (smile) &l ‘Soon enough, traffic picks up and the Laura Nyro songbird hour is over, so.1 switch to Van Moxrison, my breed and butter, ‘Sometimes, I’ll play stuff ke the Dead or Phish or the Pogues, maybe Hot Tuna or medleys of mixed bands. I’ve got hundreds of tapes. Its what I believe in! Tapes! Cassette tapes. When they first came out, I liked ‘em more than those stupid 8-tracks. Thated CD’s. Now, I hafta use ‘em, too, to make tapes and because they’re not malking caseette players, anymore. 1 finally got a car with a player, but it only plays CD’s. One time a friend gave me a CD of the Clash’s masterpisce — Sandinistal - 3 CD’s, but I gave it back to him. That was stupid (and ungrateful) but like I say, ’m ot fond of CD’s. T the wake of this ongoing nightmare of Dylan’s death (iilled by a Iying, drunken, low-life pig) my wife found a little ad in the Penny Saver. Some lady was offering froe “Dead tapes.” So, being the conscientious, Toving person she is, she elerted-me, So, | called the number, Swre enough this lady, named Dee, claimed to be offering several dozen Dead tapes to a “good home.” 1 guess 1 impressed upon her my sincerity and enthusiasm for she also offered me many other tapes, too. I was so delighted! Someons, a perfect stranger, was doing something wonderful for me — maybe. ‘There were logistical problems and time-frame delays. She had to go out of town for a while then 1 had to. I lost her number and then I found it, again. 1 called her back. She remembered and the offer was still good. In fact, she’d even come to my house! Oue fime day, this little old Indy did come to my house with » big box full of awesome Dead tapes, meticulously decorated with all the songs neatly listed — many, many live concert tapes, along with a whole ‘nuther ‘ohapping bag full of other tapes of bands frem the 60’s, 70% and 80’s, T4 say ahe gave me up to 100 tapes — all for nothing! I gave her a bag of 1t was incredible! 1 started listening to some of them. Some were now I have several versions of awesome Dead songs, recordings of songs of bands I never got around to listening to, al in pecially decorated cases. Its a genuine treasure trove. Whoever put these together spent ‘countless hours, days, weeks, months and years crafting them, possibly also following the Dead all over the country, keeping track of radio shows,
concerts, etc. Maybe be (or she!) was a DJ of some sort, who also, obviously loved tapes: 1 wonder what happened to him or her. Maybe (s)he died somehow. I couldn’t imagine the person would just give them up. 1t seemed like the person somehow left the scene and his or her mother ended up with them. Apparently, she didn’t share her child’s enthrallment with 60 — 80 rock ‘music, 80 lovingly captured on cassette tape. But, 1 sure do and it’s one of the two nicest things a perfect stranger ever did for me. The other one was when a guy gave me a huge collection of plywood Christmas cut-outs that festooned his house. He had a ‘2 gingerbread boy and girl, a dog licking a peppermint circle, M & M He just up and gave me everything, which we have since adarned our house with, every year since, from November to February. We’re known around town as the “gingerbread house.” Here’s how this came about. My wife had commented on how she enjoyed this display, which was on a house in Park Forest, the town she had lived in since the age of ten. The first ten years of her life she lived Anyway, s0 one day, I was driving around with my 2year old nephew and we drove by his house. It was around Christmastime. 1 decided to stop and sk the guy if he would be willing to fabricate something similar for me, that I could surprise my wife with for our wedding anniversary, ‘which comes on Valentine’s Day = February 140 1 talked to his wife. He wasn’t home at the time. I got their phone number and called him later that night. I told him how much my wife * liked his handiwork and mentioned the gingerbread boy and girl. Here it is, once again, & perfoct etranger just talking to me on the phone. By the time the conversation was over, he had offered to plain give me the gingerbread boy and girl and everything else! Twas kinda shocked! I told my wife and she was tharoughly delighted. ‘The next day we drove both our cars over there, and sure enough, this guy gave us everything. I gave him a couple of bottles of wine. He said his daughters were growing up and they were all moving to another house ho was building out in rural Monee. So he was happy to give his creations to a good home. My kids were little then, soit really worked out. With minor adjustments, the cut-outs looked like they were ‘made for our house. Having our house set in the woods anyway, made the display real cool looking and we’ve been putting them up every year since, some twelve years or so. Statement of Purpose

‘The purpose of tis publishing project s to provide empowering |,
information and analysis to (mostly) indigent) prisoners. We do this as
an expression of our humenism.

We detest all forms of violence whether they are caused by
individuals (what is called “crime”) or sanctioned by the state.

'We believe the well-written, insightful truth of today’s political
realities, serves as a powerful stimulus for the betterment of those poor
souls, caughtin the clutches of ignorance, hatred, despair, self-hate
and hopelessness.

‘We don’t shy away from bluntly discussing the brutal realities of
today, nor are we cowed by the uniquely hysterical atmosphere me
must function amidst. But, just because we report upon such outrages
as war, injustice, repression and all forms of suffering, does not mean
‘we advocate using them! i

We offer a forum for those we feel have something important to
say, whether we agree with them or not.

‘The fact that our literature is s0 often confiscated and destroyed by
prison authorities is more a reflection of their ignorance of the laws
pertaining to frec speech and their fear of the truth. Words and ideas
‘can be powerful and repression and censorship are but reactive
admissions of that. But, ideas are not “dangerous” even as vaguely
defined by prison rules. They are protected by the Constitution, as
countless court cases have confirmed.

So, we will continue to provide these publications to prisoners —
regardless of the difficulties we, our collaborators and our readers may
be forced to endure. We do this because. of our respect for humanity
and our revalsion towards violence and ignorance. Each one, teach

An Anarchist Looks at the World ¥

By now, everybody pretty much understands that Earth's days are
aumbered due to the deadly rape and plunder, by "Man." Nobody, save for a
depraved few, really wanta this to continue to accelerate. The problem is in
understanding exactly what is going on and what the best way to deal with it
is. The only thing that can really stop thia hell bound train is massive
understanding, and coordinated motivation and action. Yet, people are
paralyzed to thair lazyboys. So, hell yeah, the “prospects” look bleak!

Now, think! To even attempt to get people aroused in a critical mass of
eBlectiveness requires a tremendous psychological turnaround in everybody.
In-place of cyaicism to serious political analysis, a fatalism, a clinging to
‘some religion, feigned (or real) apathy - all the “do nothing” arguments, must
be exorcised and replaced with focused thought and action. It's the only thing
that has really worked to any significant degree in all the struggles of the
past. Look at the Abolitionists in the 19% Century. It takes a transcendent
effort!

‘Those that understand the situation should develop their abilities to relay
this insight in such a way that anybody can understand what is being said
and/or implied. It requires a genuine, solidarity-minded mindset ~ every
single day. Because every single day, children are dying and people are being
murdered by these tyrants! You must crawl before you can walk. You must

Question #1: If Anarchism would bring out unconditional
freedom, then why does society not embrace its theories?

Answer: Well, that's a complicated question with a lot of factors
involved. 1would say that basically people do embrace these
theories, which are really just the articulation of natural harmonious
human behavior. Almost all religious teach them, commonly known
0 us as “The Golden Rule” - do unto others as you would like to see
done to you. Respect each other, cooperate, share fairly, don’t be a
bully, don't steal from others, don't coerce people into doing things
they don't want to do (no slavery be it wage, chattel, sexual, contract
or prison,) You shouldn't commit crimes, such as kidnapping,
incarcerating, bombing, terrorizing, threatening, prosecuting using
slave documents never agreed to, etc.

Anarchism is basically the articulation of elevating in social and
personal use all the good qualities of humanity - kindness, mutual
aid, solidarity, direct action, hanesty, openness, inclusiveness,
sustainability, and a general love and looking out for not just
‘humanity, but other creatures and our

anarchy’s opposite to these peoples — slaughter, slavery, a class and
race-based hicrarchy, with cynical parchments full of lics and
vagueness which their august Judiciary” could interpret any way the
powers that be wanted them to.

So, sadly, people in this country and pretty much throughout the
modern-day world have no history or sense of what it is like to live
‘cooperatively, without a hierarchical apparatus menacing them from
above. From birth they are channeled into thinking life is “survival of
the fittest” and that to “get ahead” they must get over on all those in
their way. Al they know is this demented consumerist socicty, as
they are endlessly bombarded with lies on all subjects — politics,
human relations, social relations, history, everything. Citizens are

them, who have different cultures, colors and interests. Our highest
gnn!i:mafl.\mvhmwaddlmbuygmdlwimmdwrhumnhy
and concern for people and the planet is snuffed out. Our
consciences are suflocated constantly, which explains the heavy drug
use, the psychosis, the unhappiness in people, the bitter self-hate
and so forth.
For the ‘ideology” of America is the almighty dollar, not long- ),
accepted values like humanism, faimess, sustainability, equality,
justice, etc. We have been robbed of our humanity, as the moorings
to them have been ripped from us since day one, much like the
foreskin of so many baby boys. We are products of our environment.
It's hard to have a history of cooperative, anarchist community when
we are all atomized in our homes or apartments and our parents are
forced to slave all day to provide food, clothing, housing, utilities, etc.
No one has time to be a human being and what little time we have is
sucked into highly addictive, yet malodorous behavior, such as
violent movies, games, and schemes to rip people off and 0 on.

‘There's no real “gutonomous zones” for people to latch onto for
something different and viable. School teaches kids to can't stand to
learn more than anything. It's such boring bullahit, plus it starts the
tracking process to various roles ~ bourgeois sellouts, working stiffs
or for the darkly complexioned &/ or rebellious - prison. This lifelong
process of destroying each person’s initiative and natural desire to
learn and grow is planned to do exactly what it does. Children are
dying to learn anything and everything and do an amazing amount of
it in the home. But you take them into these miserable schools,
amidst often horrible neighborhoods, etc. and they puke it all up.
Helf the students drop out in high school because it is 8o horrible.
Halfl For, they are taught the lies and bullshit that those who control
education want them to learn, not what they genuinely need to know
for their real development. 3

Anarchy is never taught in schools. If it is mentioned, it is as a
quickly dismissed aberrant, violent, dangerous and suicidal form of
evil thinking that advocates “chacs.” Bibles and mainstream social
studies, self-help type books and pamphlets are everywhere, but
serious anarchist tracts are rare indeed. Sadly, many of the few
anarchist publications out there are irrelevant to most peoples’ daily
lives. They riff off on esoteric tangents that only a tiny cadre of
anarchists would even care about.

So, basically, people aren't embracing anarchist thinking because
they have no idea such a thing even existsl The ones that have run
across a decent piece of it hiave been impressed. But, every single
one of us bas layers and layers of baggageaf mental garbage
cluttering up our minds. It's like a bag lady’s dive inside everyone's
skulll Each person needs to embark on major peychological house

People have built walls of protection for themselves. They don't
want to “go there” because it might be dangerous and scary. Its
‘scary to confront your own demons and fears of inadequacy. But
see, that's what's 5o wonderful about anarchist thinking. It's a plain
and simple tool to use. It doesn't demand a damned thing from youl
2
If you give it your all and become a serious Christian, god bless you,
Brotherl 1 say “Brother” because they still discriminate against
women! At its best, it should help you figure things out more clearly,
which leads to delightful insights, which foster sclf-love, self-
empowerment.

Anarchist thinking is what getting to the brutal truth of reality is
all about. That's scary stuff because the state has made it very clear
on endless occasions that they will kill everyone within a huge
radius. They are that evil. Since the Paris Commune, an early
attempt at quasi-anarchist politics and living, all such vibrant bursts
of consciousness and social agitation for anarchy has been met with
2 hail of bullets and bombs, endless torture in capitalist dungeons
and frequent firing squads. Kill the messenger, indeed!

So who would want to stick their neck out like that, only to have
them laughingly cut it off? I can't blame people, really - especially
when the few anarchists they run across have a boatload of issues,
themselves. But, the point is this. Anarchist thinking and analysis
has a clarity lacking in all other belief systems. The reason for this is
the only real requirement s the truth, a love and respect for
humanity and an unquenchable desire to bear witness to it all and
participate fearlessly. We're not asking you to listen to a politburo or
any group of know-it-ell fuckers, who may even call themselves
“anarchistsl” All calls are up to youl We fecl people deserve the
respect of being told the truth as well as a demonstration of courage
in the face of these monsters.

I've met anarchists who I couldn't stand - and vice versal I've also
met some I'd go to the ends of the Earth for. No, it's not for
cverybody. But the ideas of empowering truth, sure as hell are! The
“hell” is this tormented world called Earth!

Therein lies the “danger” of anarchy to the authori

they round up every single day!

People look for homeostasis, as do all animals and life, including
Earth. They want a warm place o live, with love, enough to cat,
safety, etc. Even though this is a ruthlessly monstrous bloodthirsty
cmpire, they've managed to cocoon themselves in an unaffordable

debt, being homebody consumers. They watch a ton of T.V. To most
People - and it is most people in the U.§. - this is all they can hope

for. Opening up Pandora’s Box of reality check is something to be
avoided at all costs!- For, not only is the rediscovery of self thrill ride
a wild one, but the authorities would like nothing better than to kill
&/or torture you, if you succeed at all.

Mostly, society hasn't embraced the ideas of anarchism because
they haven' been explained well enough. They haven't been
propagated at all effectively. And, all too often, the messages
discussed are all so jrrelevant to what people are being forced to deal
with. For example, I'n a longtime wage-slave worker. I'm in a union
and | was a steward for twelve years. 1do a lot of argument crafting
on issues involving my workplace, management and the union. But,
a publication like ARS (Anarcho-Syndicalist Review) however well
done, and I believe it is well-done, just isn't that relevant to working

A whole new literature of rebellion — anarchist driven ~ needs to
emerge and give hip-hop run for its money! Better yet, it needs to
convince hip-hop to ditch the damn money and create comsciousness
‘and citizen-driven services o desperately needed in the depressed
communities, which are a pre-requisite for serious social
transformation. A tsunami of anti-capitalist Peoples’ education has
to take shape and take hold.

Anarchists and their sympathizers or friends or other social
justice crusaders must o this unafraid educating - and use every
‘means poesible. It's happening, mostly on the internet. But that's
‘missing s0 many people, who don't have access to it or don't know
‘where to look, don't have the time (or patience) to fool with it, etc.
Most people have busy lives they're running around trying to deal
with. They don have time to be a computer geek all the time.
Anarchists need to go back to that tried and true method of
education - actually writing the thrilling analysis of current eventa
and mentoring folks into real ways of thinking - and making them
available on paper! But, so few anarchists actually do that.

It makes me angry that anarchist literature, which there is a
wonderful supply of, is all too often, only available to a select few
people, instead of passed out to daily commuters or something. But,
‘anarchists are like everybody else. Most of them don't do anything
and only a few are dedicated as you would think any anarchist worth
his or her salt should be, but haplessly aren't. We're all flawed but
you can will yourself to effectiveness, which some anarchists are
willing to help you with.

Everybody is at a different stage of conscious development. Prison
is & great example. You have the totally illiterate and the
unmistakably brillient. Both, if they're thinking right, yearn to learn.
By showing these people genuine humanity and an honest
respectfulness, you two can begin to educate each other! Herein
again, lies the alarm bells going off in the jailer's heads. First and
s
foremost, they do not want their slaves anything but ignorant and
intimidated and docilized. If they have to pin them down and inject
them with drugs, theyll do it. If they have to taser, beat or even kill
them, they o it! It's a battle of will - good vs. evil & the truth vs.
lars.

Question #2: Local judges and prosccutors are elected into their
positions by voters, who essentially, are pro-state and
government. These judges and prosecutors in return, promise to
do things for a vote, 50 how can anyone expect to obtain justice?
If judges and prosecutors are granted immunity from their
decision-making, don’t these immunities perpetuate corruption
and differeatial troatment? If these judges and prosecutors are
mot held accountable, who is? How does an anarchist battle
such power? Especially, a poor prisoner?

Answer:

Some judges are rubber-stamped by old, conservative voters, this
is true. Most judges and prosecutors are appointed. There's a big
“law enforcement” buddy system, which has tentacles in every realm
- government, the military, the schools, churches, and elsewhere,
where these people are groomed for these positions. Law schools, Ivy
League type schools, stints in the military or the police, school
administration, ctc. these are the types of people who end up as
judges and prosecutors. They come from the upper class or with
their approval.

‘The elections are rigged, trite occasions where horrible candidates
are the only ones available for positions in horrible institutions, such
&s the judiciary and the legislature. Police are elected, sometimes,
t00. The votes are all for show, the outcome has already been
determined. Like the Chicago Bears, it docsn’t matter who the
quarterback s, the game will still be played the same way.

Is this rigged system conducive to “justice?”

NO! Of course not, but then, it never was. Its just another claborate
well-refined lic that they use to attain complacency and acquicscence
- that and cameras everywhere, cops with guns everywhere and
hideous prisons everywherel So, you can hope for justice and strive
to attain justice and fight for justice but it's a waste of time expecting:
it

‘Their own laws and rules can sometimes be used against them, as
they flaunt and violate them routinely. Occasionally, you can
convince a judge to rule according to the rules in your favor, but it
almost invariably takes an incredible amount of time, money and
effort, which they make it exceptionally difficult for poor people to
muster, much less prisoners, especially indigent ones.
[

Prisoners do what they can from what I've seen. Many ¢
concentrate on studying the law, learning how to write writs and
‘mount procedural and court challenges. They try to solicit support
from outside sympathizers by describing their situation, writing
essays, drawing graphics, etc.

1 don't know what all else prisoners can do — hunger strikes, other
actions. There's no question many of you have been railroaded in the
first place, have been set-up while in prison and so forth. It's an’
endless litany of abuse and the breaking of their own laws and rules
By the authorities. They make everything be forcibly fnneled
through their corrupt game, where smarmy lawyers play their
expensive roles - and they are just roles - they get paid for *expertly”
Iying! Judges and prosecutors have immunity, but defense attorneys
don! They have the whole weight and all the resources of the state,
‘which is endless as they steal enormous amounts in taxes every
single year, and the defense has nothing. They can threaten you with
all these horrible outcomes - prison, probation, forced labor, fines,
ete. if they “win® and you can do nothing to them if you “win® except
eventually maybe procuring your “freedom” or winning a judgment,
which is 0o skin off their nose, nor will it adversely affect their career
one iota. Al the monies paid out are from stolen monies they lifted
from (mostly) working people, anyway. When they spend too much,
they cut vital services &/or raise taxes. So, they never “lose” even
when they lose. They may lose the gravy from one previously held
captive, but they are loathe and ever so reluctant to admit any
‘mistakes or release any captives “prematurely.” They are in the
punishment industry business and most certainly it's corrupt as hell
and they play favorites. The rich and even yuppies who commit
“crime” (drug use for example) first, aren't gone after. If (rarely)
caught they're nat prosecuted. A “deal” is made, instead. Poor
people without connections to make these *deals” get prosecuted and
constant expansion. The raw materials needed are human beings.
It's & sort of slow death human sacrifice for profit scheme. It's wildly
profitable and these profits are guaranteed and risk-free. All monies
for all aspects of this scheme are paid for through taxes. More and
‘more, it is true, private prisons are cropping up, but they are also
coddled and protected by the “laws” and the authorities and squeeze.
their profits out too, often at the expense of the well-being of the
prisoners in their tomb.

People must realize, and do once dragged through this diabolical

beyond belief masquerading as something noble. It's vile - one of the
puss-filled abcesses of this society.

“legitimize® human slavery, genocide around the world, mass
hope-killing ghettos, the wasting of young lives suckered into the
imperialist military — all of it! How do they do this? By “interpreting”
the Constitution! This is a document lording over us that not one of
'us agreed to and which to this day sanctions human slaveryl So,
‘we're dealing with a slave-driven legal system and by their convenient
definition, slaves have no legal rights!

‘Theyve refined it and have the game down pat. Their police forces
prisons, in the factories, all over. - The game is set in a familiar pace,
blah biah blah, do you have a lawyer, do you have money, here’s your
sentence. It's not meant to provide ustioe® because every single
outcome is unjust! Even if you are ruled innocent of whatever
“crime” you were accused of, you were forced through their hideous
system. You weren't judged by your peers or cven accused by them!
1t was all orchestrated from above with these very same - beyond
accountable - police, judges and prosecutors. YouVve already paid
dearly in time, money and a total disruption to your life. If found
‘massive, daily, horror show genuine crime of capitalist incarceration.
Even if you were guilty of a real crime, forcing you to be a victim of
government crime every day does nothing to deal with your crime,
much less the causes of it or any other crime. So, the whole process

Anarchists and poor prisoners must understand this and leave no
stone unturned describing the truth of the situation and the
criminality of the government. Even a losing court case or whatever,
can be & highly valuable learning experience for those involved and
others who are educated by scrupulous reporting by anarchists
about the whole sordid process. As we go along, we need to educate
people into anarchist ways of thinking, i.e. looking at the situation at
need to lose all respect and fear of government. You can't give
‘credence to bullies and perverts!

1 you lose a court case, more battles await you. You must battle
no matter what is happening because the whole mess is still
1o conditions for struggle, you must create them.* We have to be
‘accountable for ourselves, our fellow captives and otherwise
oppressed Sisters & Brothers and go day to day dealing with
whatever comes at us. They may not be accountable, nor is their evil
system, but we can and should be accountable as far as what we can
see, say, think and do. By being this way as opposed to those fat
credibility and their lack of it. It helps more peopie lose the grip
mhnmmmmnmzy.mjmmm Once we get
enough people to lose all respect for their disgusting power, we can
put it to death, once.and for alll 7

So, there's no magic formula for individual case by case success.
If you do study their game and play it well enough to win a case, you
can piss them off and they may target you again. After all, they dont
have to worry about accountability, no matter how criminal their
actions become. Just look at the constant police murdering that is
quickly ruled ustifiable” by other police! So, there’s no real
“victories” just the satisfaction of fighting these creeps.

But! Work like you are doing in the trenches of the dungeons is
invaluable, not only in educating others on how to challenge them at
their own game, but also how to look at things. These informative
‘works you've put together (which you have unloaded on me) are
important contributions not only to the jailhouse lawyers among us,
‘but also to anarchist thinking! So, Bravol to you for having the
courage and anarchist wherewithal to deal with these Kiansters all
get it all worked up, I'm sure it will be very beneficial to people.

Anarchism is like other belief systems. It is what people who
profess to believe in it say, think and do. So it is up to us to outdo
everybody else, which greatly enhances the credibility of it as a belief
system. By continuous effort at a high level, we create a body of
serious argumentation. At this stage of ignorance and atomization, it
is job one, in my opinion. A good anarchist battles the power and
‘works with poor prisoners doing it.

'As things worsen, which they o doubt will, what anarchists have
been saying will no longer seem outlandish, but rather, very succinct.
As we write and battle our message gets clearer and more recognized
as the truth. The injustice of it all is still there. It's the reality of our
modern day, global situation. We need to continuously be there for
people, who in their desperation are crying for such awareness. We
can't leave it up to anybody else — even other anarchists. We must
rely upon ourselves and instill that bedrock sense of self-reliance in
others, regardless of what they do with it, becanse as anarchists, we
are confident that the more truly honest, serious and truth-seeking
they become, the more *anarchistic” they become as well.

Respect for humanity means speaking truth to power, whicl takes
alot of courage. This is what electrifies people! It is how anarchists
‘battle.

Question #3: Is there really any difference between a Democrat
or a Republican? If they have everything so figured out for the
people, then why do we bounce back-and-forth between
Democrat and Ropublican leaders? Why hasa’t an Asarchist ran
for president in order to really make a difference, or at least to
give some protections to the people? If an independent party
cannot prevail, what does this say about the system?
Answer: "

‘There are significant differences between Democrats and
Republicans. They are both usually, pompous, ugly, fat, white old
men, but Democrats try to sexually abuse young women and girls,
whereas the Republicans generally prey upon young men and boys.
Both whore themselves out to the major corporations and genocidal,
ssweatshop “foreign policy.” Republicans are more candid about their
reactionary proclivities, whereas Democrats hypocritically feign
interest in issues of concern to working people. Both have sold their
souls to the devil and have willingly conceded their lives to a
disgusting and corrupt legacy. They are human-like embodiments of
the ugliness that is systematized inequity. There is very little
difference between them. They both love «cops and prisons and fat
envelopes of cash.

‘They are 50 similar as corporate parties, that their parts are casily
interchangeable. Once one group gets in, shortly thereafter their
failures and scandals disgust even the minority of people over
eighteen who actually vote. So they vote the other party in, which
proves equally disastrous and so on and so forth.

But, the rigorous strictures of the system, disallows for other
parties. It's extremely difficult for other parties to even get on a
ballot. For example, the Green Party in llinois needed 25,000
signatures to get on the ballot, but the Democrats & Republicans
only needed 1,500
With the electorate politically brain dead as demonstrated by their
‘willingness to participate without much to say in this. charade, and
most people too turned off or disgusted by it all to even be registered
10 vote, a “third party” doesn't have a chance - unless they can pull a
fast one of, all the while counting on the obliviousness of the
electorate, the media and o on. For example, a few years ago, the
LaRouchics were able to sneak a couple of candidates through the
primary in Illinois, because they were hiding as Democrats and
weren’t outed as LaRouchies until after they had won the primary.
The guy running for governor had a LaRouchic as a running mate. It
was pretty funny!

But even if those nuts or any other 3 party candidates got
elected, as has rarely happened here and there, nothing would really
change. As they came to Washington or Springfield or wherever, the
system would still be embedded. Lobbyists working for large
corporations guide the debate on who gets the stolen tax monies.
Like the judiciary, the legislative farce is also a criminal game, and
especially as it gets into the executive level, quite often a ‘highly
deadly game. Look at this horrible genocidal Iraq War. The
Republicans worked up all the lies and launched this massive
bloodletting. The Democrats got elected to end it, but once in,
decided they couldn't do anything about it. They even increased the
amount of soldiers and now Bush wants 200 billion $ more, which
the auisline Demncrats will sive him

See, these alcoholic letches, who have these titles, have been
groomed to live this pampered, mega-whore life. Even “third” party
candidates have been corrupted by.the excitement of the “corridors of
power.” Thic real lions of the people are with the people ona 2.0
grassroots level. For, participation in this process is an admission of
surrender to corruption, criminality and power.

No way in hell would an anarchist ever run for president or any
other goddam officel It's the antithesis of what an anarchist believes.
We want to end these cosmic farces on the history of humanity - not
participate in theml The few times anarchists have swallowed their
pride and participated in governments have been disasters!

We must get over the false hope that government will “protect” us!
The government is what is menacing us! Our safety and prosperity
can only be “guarantced” by our own conscious efforts and those we
organize with.

What the government is doing right now is this: stealing our
money, using it to kill people in Iraq and Afghanistan, sending ever
more people into the hideous prisons, protecting big business,
shredding what few “rights” we have left, etc., ctc. How is that
“protecting” us? When a voice s raised against this juggernaut of
greed and vice, like the milquetoasty Paul Wellstone, he mysteriously
dies on the eve of an election in a plane crashl All that change”
means in this sick system is even more goddam laws are written.
That's it! All the crime previously committed by the government and
all the terrible things it is doing now and will do is not even worth a
speeding ticket. It's allowed to happen even if it succeeds in doing
what it is headed to do - destroy the Earth itselfl That's our
“protection!”

It says that the system is pure, cosmic level crime that humanity
needs to end to have a chance at a future, much less a society of
peace, freedom and justice.

Question #4: Do taxes by the controlling masses (government]
Pperpetuate the monetary system? With our science and
technology today, why do we need a monetary system? Why
can’t we all just work jobs 5o people can just have what they
need and want? The Amish do it!

Answer:
Yeah, taxes play a big role. Its how government gets its money to
buy all this misery. We live in what has been called *hyper”
capitalism. The difference between the salaries of CEO's and wage-
earners is astronomical - way worse than any other country. All the
laws, the police, the courts, the prisons, the armies, all of these
systems are in place to keep the system in place. The system works
for the aggrandizement of the already rich. Those people who control

the levers of power like the system the way it is. It affords them a life
of leisure and affluence, while doing lttle or no real work. They

‘They did not erect this elaborate system of lies and theft using
genocide, slavery and constant murder, just so logic could poke it's
‘unwelcome head in and propose a sane alternativel? Yes, most
certainly we could change things 8o people could work mare
meaningfully and equitably, but that's not what the evil bastards who
run the show want to see happen. And it won't happen unless we
samehow stop them from calling the shots. They are drunk on power

. and greed and will not voluntarily give up the “reins of state.” They
don't care that to keep it going they feel compelled to munder s0 many
‘and make suffer 80 many. They are beyond amoral, so arguments to
do the bumanistic thing mean nothing to them. They are killers.

As for the Amish, they have maintained a relative autonomy,
although their politics are rather primitive and drenched in
consumerist, Britney Spears vacuous social system we are not
rebelling against yet. The Amish aren't anarchists, nor do they
threaten the system at all, 0 by leaving them alone, the government
gets to say, “Seel We could be fucking with them, but we aren’t.
Therefore, we have the greatest country in the world!® Sheesh!

Question #5: Ifa revolution comes sbout, how will we protect
oursclves from the government and State? I mean, they possess
‘weaponry such as missiles and metal piercing rifies like he AS-
50. How do wo get a hold of such equal fire power? Iwant to bo
able to point back whatever they point at me.

Answer:

Revolutions don't come out of nowherel As the social reality
deteriorates and people necessarily.get more conscious and
organized, community organizations get stronger and more militant.
Government corruption azid brutality increases, outraging citizens,
including police and military forces. Look at Iraq. They have
infiltrated the police and military forces, have bought or stolen
stockpiles of weapons and turned them against the U.S. forces.

As the government knows 1o other “argument” other than brute
force, they lose the allegiance of the people. Without that, they can't
‘command citizens to kill other citizens. However, as they are also
doing in Iraq, they employ private armies — hired killers -
‘mercenaries. These indoctrinated fascist death squad forces are
‘among the most evil, sinister, criminally psychotic people on Earth.
Their job is to torture and kill. This is who the government will rely
‘more and more on.
More and more people need to understand what they are up
against and organize accordingly. I don't know what it will take for
the people to come to,these inevitable conclusions. Maybe it will be
mass arrests and Marshall Law. Maybe a movement will spring forth
that captures the imagination of the people and provides real 23
direction against the government. Maybe it will be a sort of new
World War, I don't know. Maybe another warldwide depression or
‘natural catastrophes will set things in motion.

Each person needs to deal primarily with themselves and their
families first and foremost. They need to overcome their fear and.
lethargy and learn what it means to give a damn about those around
them and be involved in what is happening.

It's next to impossibie to really “protect yourself” from those
determined to do you harm, especially a government s organized
and deadly as what we are dealing with. We need to rely on collective
security, but first we must learn how to build it so it is functional and
reliable. We can be catious and careful not to expose ourselves to
undue harm, but you can' let this paralyze your life or activities. No
matter how careful you try to be, you can be targeted or the victim of
random violence, an accident or whatever. Every minute
procrastinating is a wasted minute of a finite life. Don't waste time.
Your best protection is your conscious awareness about what is
happening around you and why. Then you can devise responses to
various threats.

It's hard to envision what new forms of resistance will take place
and what will be effective. 1 would think that the anarchist idea of
affinity groups would be important. Autonomy of action is hard to
climinate. If there are no “leaders* where do the authorities go to cut
the *head” off of a movement?

Along with all this actual resistance to what will amount to
government war on its own people, will be the conscious media war.
We have to unmistakably cover what s going on and analyze it
‘honestly and thoroughly. People need to know what is going on
without any ambiguity or hesitance. This of course, is hardly the
case these days as “opposition” to this beyond evil government is still
50 tepid and apologetic. People don't realize they would just as soon
shoot you as listen to (and ignore) what you have to say.

Question #6: Pacifiem and peaceful protesting seems to never

how they have responded to “peaceful” protests lately. They often

common Americans. Seeing their neighbors out onthe 273
neighborhoods picket lines with their anti-war signs asking them to
honk, slowly got them to scc who was in the wrong here. It didn't
take violence — except the endless violence of government killing
innocent civilians all the time, which also got thousands of
Americans killed and many tens of thousands injured. The home
front is sinking like that bridge in Minneapolis, because these
‘morons are wasting all the fruits of our labor to fund the gruesome
bloodletting in Iraq instead of dealing with our problems at home.
The only thing the government is willing to pour money into
domestically is the police and prison apparatus. It's sickening!

Muny people are likewise sickened by the reality they see every
day, but have nowhere to go to do anything about it. They don't
know that the key to their life lies within themselves. They don’t
know their lives could be immeasurably enriched by finding and
collaborating with people, just like them, who have taken the extra
step, two or three and gotten pro-active somehow. They're still bitter
done them from every angle. They're still tied down by a cobweb full
of lies and self-helplessness. They're under the influence of drugs -
the TV, the radio, the newspapers and other lic-based visual

‘They acoept the dreadful belief that there isn't anything you can
do about it. They're “peaceful” so peaceful they are letting the
government chew them up and spit them out and make a shambles
of their life. -

But, the government is not peaceful. They kill, kidnap and
incarcerate. They torture and evict. As the government gets more
aggressive and turns on their own people, people will get more aware
as they get burned and theyll also get more vocal and physical. 1ts

Violence is all around us. The government causes endless
gruesome death and eternal damnation (depleted uranium) every

to nip courage and insight in the bud!

Whatever happens, happens every day, anyway. We must study
and learn and teach and participate in events every single day. We
need to help each other get up to sauff, which to many, is a long
ways away. Treat every Brother & Sister out there as your own blood
relative. You take these people under your wing and teach them
‘what they need to know. Look after them and look after and educate
‘yourself, too! Al too soon reality will hit all of s in the face without
any going back. We must prepare ourslves in order to have a
chance at surviving, much less thriving. Problems don't go away
because we don't like the gravity of them. They can get worse,
though!

Now, 1 know that's impossible to do - treat everyone like your
“Brother” or “Sister.” 1 think people should be given a chance, at
least. Those you don' like after you see them in action a little, you
don’t have to like (or even deal with, really.) But, you've got to keep
trying and pushing the struggle forward - keep pushin’

Question #7: The government is in debt - a trillion dollar
something debt! At what amount docs a government become

‘bankrupt, and what consequences should people expect from
wuch a debt?
Answer: 25"
‘The government - at least this 'only super-power’ government -
craps out when and only when its own people decide it is no longer
worth propping up. We owe Japan a trillion, too, don't we? We owe
China, Vietnam - all the countries we destroyed and drew slaves and

‘sweatshop labor from, all the death squad dictatorship fascist
governments we trained, supplied and otherwise supported. We owe

Question #8: America did not have its first police foroe until
1844 In Now York. Such a'fofce was created by Sir Robert Peel
in 1829 in Leadon, England. From the day Columbus discovered
America ia the fiftcenth century till 1844, America scemed quite
capable of policing thomselves. So then, what was the purpose
of eveating the nalice?
Answer:

The country may not have had police, but they did have militias,
vigilante groups, military troops, etc. They did the job of police - go
out and kill people (Indians) round up escaped slaves, crush 2.4
rebellions, enforce capitalism (il strikers, etc.) They gave people
plenty of lecway as far as punishing or killing their slaves and
‘workers. The Pinkerton's were like private police hired by companics
to break strikes and kill workers.

So, as the country grew and the population grew, they wanted an
everywhere domestic occupation force to do the hidding of slavers
and capitalists. These evolved into police forces of various levels.
‘Their jobs are still pretty much the same ~ protect the property of the
rich, who they helped to steal the land and insure the profitability of
their operations, in the first placel They're supposed to keep the
rabble down and unable to mount any serious challenge to this type
of rule.

With the changing conditions, such as the technology and giobal
sweatshop economy, many of the most rebellious and unwanted
(read: young male, mostly urban Afrikans) are only useful to the slave
‘economy as actual prisoner slaves. The police play a huge role in
this explosive domestic “industry.” So, as before their role was to
capture and return *cacaped slaves” back to the plantations,
nowadays, they capture “gang members” and take them to the
‘modern-day siave plantations — thy nation's prisons.

The police are all about “law enforcement.” The laws are written
by the rich people lawyers to insure things stay the way they are and
that those who do get punished are the poor ~ especially the ones
with protective melanin in their akin. They keep a lid on this horrible
country on a day-by-day basis. Like Mayor Richard J. Daley once
explained: “The police aren't there to create disarder, they ace there
to preserve disorder!”

Question #9: An anarchist man or woman targets and kills
government officials, leaders, agents and cops in his or her own
‘way to abolish government. Murder or hero?

Answer: Well, this actually rarely ever happens that an anarchist
does target an official. Overwhelmingly, it is the other way around -
government targeting anarchists or any number of innocents. It
depends I guess. When that monster, American-lsracli gunned down
all of those lalamic worshippers, those who did overwhelm and idll
him were definitely heroes. They stopped further certain senseless
slaughter. And I can sec how Alexander Berkman wanted to go and
personally kill Frick, after he ordered the Pinkerton’s to kil so many
workera. But even if he succeeded in killing him, the company would
have just put another pig in his place. Nothing fundamentally would
have changed.
‘When those people gave Ceaucescu and his wife a quickie trial
and execution, on Christmas morning no less - I thought it was great!
But, another hoirible regime was quickly put into place, and the 2.9
people got 0o real relief. I'm sure the worlds people loved it when
Mussolini got strung up - at last! But it was a brief moment of joy at
the vanquishing of a tyrant. Crappy governments kept coming.

‘When the Unabomber killed a couple of researchers or whatever
they were, I thought it was cruel and rotten. These small fry are not
the “tyrants” who orchestrate genocide. He's just a low-level
functionary. 1 thought if you are going to g to the extent that you
are willing to actually off somebody, make sure that person has been
‘personally responsible for some awful crimes of government — the
policy-makers of mass murder. When that anarchist actually did kill
a guy, here in the U.S. (McKinley) I think | would have been
supportive of him, had | lived then, at least once he became a captive
of government. But then, I'm supportive of all the captives!

1 readly, really, really don't like it when people get needlessly hurt
or killed, which is why | hate the U.$. government so much. Lone.
‘wolf rampages — even against tyrants — have no real effect on
‘abolishing government per se. Of course, that nephew dude in Nepal
‘who wasted the whole royal family with a machine gun surely put the
Iibosh o that despicable ruling class!

‘Then again, as part of a fluid revolutionary situation, it is a tactic
that can have effect. Sometimes it's a matter of killing them before
they can Lill youl Then, it is self-defense.

But going off on your own against who ever, usually someone not
that important, as the real big fish are so protected, doesn't have
much effect. It's more a cry of isolation and frustration. It also gives
the authorities a good excuse to crack down on his or her comrades.
So, these isolated attacks.end up getting comrades captured, because
thiey didn't know what was going to come down and were caught
before they could protect themselves from capture.

Each case is different. If the person does it as part of a
revolutionary strategy and not just some spasm of revenge or
something, it pre-supposes that this person has thought out the
possible consequences. Such people as Russell Maroon Shoats and
Ojore Nuru Lutalo have made these types of choices — and have spent
decades in horrible supermax hellholes because of it. I consider
them to be freedom fighters and very brave. They not only gave their
whole life for the cause of liberation, but it's a slow, painful daily
death they must endure.

I'm waiting for anarchists to have the courage to do basic
argument crafting, printing and distributing of relevant anarchist
literature. I'm tapping my foot, impatient for them to give
presentations, screen films and organize discussions and actions.
And 1 don't mean just with other anarchists. | meen with real people,
‘whether in school, in the military, on the job, on the street or in the
clink. Let's kill this beast with the unmistakable truth!
Question #10: What is the libertarian objection to anarchism?

Answer: 1 believe in England, “libertarian” and “anarchist” are pretty
synonymous terms. “Libertarians in this country are like far-right-
Republicans. They believe in the Constitution and they love liberty.
They hate government interference in their lives. But the problem is
the Constitution is a slave document. So, they believe in slavery,
whereas anarchists are anti-slavery. 28

Libertarians believe in capitalism, which is a system of economic
slavery. Chattel slavery was also form of capitalism. They just do
not like government interfering in their affairs. They think they
should be allowed to do what they want without regulation or any
other type of government bullying. But, they really don' care about
people who don't concern them, such as targeted Afrikans.

So, they're cool with inequality and capitalist exploitation of
workers, here and abroad. They don't like government and police
interference in their affairs. Well, who does? They liken these
intrusions to “communism.” True, communist governments surely
have meddled heavily in peoples’ lives and it's always been terrible.
“Democratic” governments are no less brutal to their own people,
quite often. They just don't bother to look at the whole picture. They
don't have the empathy and caring for other people that anarchists
profess to have.

Real anarchists who put their beliefs in practice can't stand
injustice and want all government and authority to be climinated.
Anarchism celebrates the salt of the Earth. Libertarianism wants to
keep their privileged position without being messed with, hardly a
noble cause.

Anarchy calls for every single person to not be menaced by
government and allowed o do their own thing ~ s long as they do
not infringe on the lives and rights of others. Libertarians are of the
bourgeois class and anarchy is with the proles and unemployed, the
downtrodden and incarcerated, the migrant worker and the drifter.
Anarchy is for everybody who wants to live a real life and be willing to
fight for it. Anarchy is for those who want to embrace the truth - and
all the danger that this may bring. Anarchy is concerned about the
fate of humanity and goes to bat for the sake of humanity, even
though they know they will be pilloried for it. It's all about love and
all about respect for life — not privilege.

Libertarians want to get back to “Jeffersonian democracy.”
Anarchists want world-wide revolt and the end 1o all government and
authority. Jeflerson was a slave-owner. Anarchists are anti-slavery.
Truth, freedom, justice, liberation!

Thanks for asking me these questions, Brother! Take carel

Let's Read the Daily Paper

I'im going to comment on & few of the stories and features in today's
Chicago Sun-Times. I¢s Wednesday, November 7%, 2007. 29

“T'm Ready To Go' is the headline. Former Governor George Ryanis
10 report to prison today, for a long litany of corruption. He calls ita
“10-year nightmare.” That's kind of furmy because I co-founded a group
called STAND) (Shut This Airpost Nightmare Down)

“The folks around Peotone have been menaced by this ‘airport” the
airlines ot want, for four decades. Among other crooked Ilinois
politicians, we can “thank” George Ryan, who smuck a “landbanking”
scheme on to the mega-pork barrel “Ilinois First” package that the
sycophantic legislature passed without problem, all the while extolling
George as the greatest. Our communities are now partially destroyed.
But, he wasn't even charged with anything about allthat!

Poor George, Mr. Magoo himself,is going down. He's a victim of the
government but he hurt a lotof ool He also wasn't even
charged in the buming deaths of the six children.

On page 2, it previews the “We Think” editorial. “Pakistan's leader
takes wrong turn - we can't convert an entire country to our sense of

" This insinuates that ‘our sense of democracy” is a good
thing and that the Pakistanis are somehow immature or defective for not
‘wanting to be like us! How diseased this thinking traly is!

Our great ‘democracy” gives the world an overdase of the seven vices
onasilver platter. Supposedly, everyone should “convert” to: gluttony,
endless corruption. Le's not forget genocide, lately against Muslims!
But, what can you expect from a lie-based educational system that extols
2 slave document, never agreed to, as the highest achievement of
mankind?? Pidfal

On pege 3, columnist Mary Milchell gels some prominent ink talking
about the latest outrage by the Chicago cops - the tasering of an 82-year
old woman, who the cops were sent to check on, for a “wellness” check.
Well... I guess they can report tha's she's fine, since they weren't able to
killthe old bird, aithough she spent five says in the hospital

1f a bunch of thugs with weapons barged into your home with
‘weapons, you probably wouldn't have the guts t confront them the way
this Iady did. She held up a hammer in her frail hands. Of course, this
‘weuldn't guarantee you wouldn't be clubbed or shot or maced or
tasered, t00. These immune-from-gennine-repercussions government-
‘paid monsters do these horrible things to people they ve already
handenfied! All their crimes are ruled “justified” ~ by other cops!

Page4 is 2 full-page ad, as are roughly half the pages, Page5hasa
story about the mother murdered while trick-or-treating withher 3o *
children. Cameras everywhere, police everywhere, prisons everywhere
- yet these things have o effect on how safe our neighborhoods are, bt
rather, help to make them more dangerous! How’s “democracy?”

‘While using 30% of the world's resources, incarcerating 25% of the
‘world's prisoners, with but 4.5% of the world's population, this pointless
yetall too common murdering is the horrific nightmare they get in this
“great” democracy.

Thanks, “democracy!” Thanks for all the millionaires and billionaires,
gated commaunities and corporate welfare, Thanks for the trillions spent
on“defense” fuxtaposed against the numerous and huge ghettos full of
despair and desperation, where life is stripped of dignity and meaning.

Its where the hard drug trade is the only “economy” for so many.
This year's Afghan heroin poppy crop i the biggest i history - under
US occupation! Of course, these “bangers” could get their “three hots
and a cot” as prisoners. They could also enlist and kill people all around
the world, as part of Cheney’s capitalist wrecking crew. This way, they
would't have to worry about getting busted. But i they get ruined
ither physically or psychologically (or both) they're on their own. Some
could even become cops or prison guards, so they could still menace
their own people, get paid for R, and not have to worry about being
hassled about their criminal behavior.

‘What is America's solution to her “problems?” Why, its to make
more Inws! This doesn't solve anything, but it does ensure that more
‘people will “run afoul” of the law. Puck You, Amerikal

On page 6, the headline reads: “Gay pastor tests celibacy rule.” A
Iady won't take the celibacy vow, but still wants to be ordained. In the
‘wake of all the church-caused pedophili, you'd think a more honest,
adult relationship would be a relief. But nope! 1ts a brouhaha. She says,
“God is the actor in all this.” God is one weird dude!

Actually, since people have for centuries tried to conjure him up (and
put words in his mouth - and deeds on his resume) we are still left with
‘whatit s - a vast nothingness. Sorry to have to tell all you folks, but
God does nothing because he is nothing. He d-0-65 n-ot ex-is-t!

On page 9, Mark Brown chimes in on George Ryan, saying, “He's
confusing a clear conscience with a lack of conscience.” Well, Mark,
‘where the hell were you (and all the other mainstream media wonks and
politicians) when ‘ol George was pulling off all these capers, right before
your eyesI? You, after-the-fact, gutiess hypocrite! You bad rap Illinois
itizens for allowing such corruption. Some of us were calling this 5.0.5.
(and many others) out, as they were committing their crimes. We did the
same before this horrific Iraqi War t00, but thanks to the wonders of
*democracy” the monster neo-cons waging this evil war (and the 3|
clneless Democrats who approved it), we had no choice but to watch this
bloodletting go ahead, now did wel? The only thing that would have
stopped all this government crime would have been a successtal
revolution, because obviously voting in Democras to “stop” the war is
nothing but a puke-in-the- mouth joke!

‘On page 10, there's a stury of fear-mongering by mortgage firms. By
the way, America, the country's in a housing market meltdown. Seems
people can't afford their exarbitant mortgages and are foreslosing ot &
record clip. Their credit cands are maxsed out, boo. People gotall kinds
of electronic shit lying around, but nothing inside their skulls!

Richard Roeper has page 1. I can't stand this guy. Like Mariotti, he's
tonted as & “entting edge” writer, Well he con's wrike, -In this piese of.

Page 14, Gov. Blagoyevich is mentioning the CTA crisis and the
‘search for more casinos (more tax money the state govemment can
‘waste) There's already talk of him being next to be indicted. There's
also talk of a recall. How's “democracy” folks? Yeah, lets get ripped off
by state regulated casinos, so the state can have more money to menace
us with. Blago is such a pud.

Page 15is about the sordid situation where the search is on for the
missing Bolingbrook cop's wife. He's 34, she (was) 24. 1¢s his fourth
‘wife. Wife #3 was found dead in her bathtub, but that was “natural
causes.”

It painfully reminds me about the death of dear & brifliant Dylan
Drapeau. He was my son's best friend, who was killed by off-duty cop,
Brian Dorian in Crete, IL on July 208, 2006. After 13 months of
“investigation” by Crete police, the State police and the Will County
State's Attorney, the best they could do was totally ignore the witness,
stall &...do nothing. Oh! Waita minote. Since he was estimated to be
travaling between &3 and 100 mph when he slammed into a stopped
Dylan, they l ssue him a speeding ticket. Ijust love Amerikan justice -
‘especially when cops kill people!

Next two pages are for the bourgeoisie. Let's trvel to - Russia! Yeah,

Page 20 s Neil Steinberg’s tiing. 1 don't like it. He can't write, either!
He tries to parlay his social squeamishness into something principled. It

'He's got a big picture of Oprah sporting her latest look - that of a
billionairess scorned. This is because she's aghast at finding out her
girf's schoolin South Africa is just like any other mainstream school in
the world. 1¥s a place where students are sexually, psychologically and.
physically abused - all the while being indoctrinated into acqui
and conforming into their decadent society. At least this piece isn't
about Oprak's weight ballooning up and down or her relationship with
her el dorko boyfriend.

Page 24's headline reads: “Judge allows bond for accused priest. Oak
Lawn / Convicted of abusing boys, he faces new charges.” Yeah, well,
heis a convicted child molester, but he's a “man of the cloth” and he is
“white”... Judges! Talk about child molesters! They shove kids into
cages (and rape environments) on a daily basis. No wonder hey wore
hoods down in Peru. Of course, they were involved in heavy conspiracy
to murder, too! What horrible people they truly are!

Page 26 reads: “Anti-war students protest suspensions.” Weirdly,
one student's sign reads: “Let us go to schooll” I guess they realize that
suany young people who aren't in school, end up like a lot of the
homeless, veterans ahd mentaly ill - thev're dragzed off to orison. How
D.ARE. those kids have a social conscience! Apparently, they haver't
learned anything in schooll They probably dor't even go to their
school's football games!

Page 30 has a report by Lynn Sweet on Barack Obama, schlepping
around in lowa. He's gonna host a dinner for 9,000 of his minions. Talk
about a cattle calll Then, he's going on “Meet the Press.” Hey, Barack!
Do you still think we may need to bomb Pakistan's nuclear facilities in
light of the latest developments from our “ally?” O will the beat down
of those wild-eyed, rock-throwing lawyers be enough?

Page 33 reports: “2007 Deadliest Year for U.S. Troops.” Yeah, but just
think how many Iragis we killed and displaced. Another article reads:
“Mukasey likely o be approved.” Well, who can really tell what the hell
“waterboarding” is? could be like that case years ago where some rich
dandy was convicted of getting off the hook for killing a girl in Central
Park because of “rough sex.” Waterboarding could just be Uncle Sam's
‘version of a nasty shower! Some folks may think reading this diatribe is
torture. Just remember, anything the U.S. does is good, including the
prospect of World War IL. 1 think Hillary should be waterboarded for
approving this auonstrous war {and for being Fist Lady when Bill was
50 “worth it snuffing out the lives of all hose Iragi children throughout
the nineties) As for Madelaine Albright, put her on the starvation diet
given to prisoners in the control units;courtesy.of thie *$.99 meals”
‘whipped up by Aramark. 35

Page 34 states: “Military looks to ease recruiting standards.” Gee, I
don't know if we should allow our trained murderers to have “minor
criminal records.” Shoulds't they be wide-eyed Bambis before their lives
(and those of many others) are totally destroyed by the State? If this lax
atttude takes hold, we could have grade-school kids with toe-nail
clippers in their pockets!

Page 36 depicts another imperialism-forced tragedy - starving, dying
‘people. Here's an example of what this horrible world-wide US.-
dominated system brings to Earth, 24/7. Its about a boat full of Africans
trying to reach Europe, stranded in the Mediterranean. Over a third of
them

perished.

Page 38 reads: “Afghan bomb kills 28, including children.” At first, 1
figured it was another U.S. wedding bombing or something because U'S,
forces murder the vast majorlty of the people being killed over there.
But it was the *enemies of peace and security” according to the U,
lackey, Karzai. He's as unctuous as any other U, puppet, but he does

Pages 39 - 41 i the comumentary section where columnists, readezs
‘and editors get to chime in with their club-footed thinking. One thing
Carol Marin wrote made sense. She said (talking about the corrupt mess
in Springfield) “Lost with the money is faith in government works.”

People need to go beyond “losing faith” in government, into seriously
understanding the whole mess, genuinely educating others and
formulating strategies to end governmen, altogether. People aways -
ask: “What would we do with all the criminals?” What they should be
asking is: “What are we doing about all the criminals who run the show,
now?”

OK. page 42. This is Zay N. Smith’s page. I thought he was “Black”
before I saw a picture of him. Lots of prisoners think I'm “Black” too!
But, I don't call people “Black” anymore. 1 call the progeny of African ~
slaves who live (and are menaced) here, “Afrikans.” Ther¢'snosuch
thing as a “white” person, either. Zay is a Euro. 4

Tlike Smith's column kind of because he's sarcastic and points out the
absurdity of modern-day (fascist) Amerika. Of course, that's as far as he
goes — fust reporting the idiotic facts. Don't expect any serious analysis
or alternatives to this hideous reality, just a jibe here and there.

‘We're halfway home! The second half of the paper starts with
#Showcase” Jay Z is doing the soundtrack for the new movie starring
Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe called American Gangster. 3¢

,its “one hell of an exciting movie.” Multi-millionaire
sellout hip-hop artist (wearing an expensive suit and te) is smoking a
stogie and looking cool. Too bad for young Afrikan men. The paper
says, “Igriore the tired message and enjoy the hot sounds” which he's
lifting off of seventies music.

‘Yeah, ignore the violence-glorying gangbang message of what's
“cool” (which will send thousands o prison) and groove on the
hedonism. Does he use his enormous income to build community

i - or to support his lavish lifestyle??? The cigar smoke in
the picture looks like cum on his face...

Rosie O'Dannell s signing with MSNBC, so the celebrity twit, Bill
Zwecker, wonders, “Is MENBC going tilt?” After all, Rosie's a leshian
against the endless bloodbath in Iraq - obviously a “loose cannon.”

‘Witers are striking, shutting down some sit-coms, including “24."
This will give Kiefer Sutherland ample time to dry out in the clink and
not have to worry about his alter-ego (Jack Bauer) saving the world from
“terrorists” through a hip form of torture, murder and circumventing
‘wark-place policy.

‘These writers should take time to look at how awful their work has
been and what effect it has had on the dumbing-down and morality-less
Iives being led by the sheep who flock in front of their idiot boxes all
day, every day to watch the crap they ve written. They've contributed
‘mightily to this degenerative culture with... sex and violence! Brilliant!

Then we have the TV listing page. There are innumerable shows on
television. Many people watch many of them day and night, every day
of their lives. 1¢s all horrible.

‘Then the commix pages with sudoku, bridge and crossword puzzles.
1¢s much adien about next to nothing. Insanely, the commix pages have
some of the “strongest” political commentary that occasionally ventures
slightly outside the narrow confines of allowable discourse in Amerika.

‘Page 53 sporis: “In Society.” This is where the bourgeoisie comes out
in their finery, usually for a “charity” event. s where people like Jesse
Jackson, actors, actresses, politicians, rich people, etc. go to schmooze:
‘and pretend to give a damn. It another spectacle depicting how
‘brainwashed children “grow up” to become fraudulent adults.

‘Page 54 has Ellie’s advice column. 1 like Ellie because she offers
‘practical advice (usually) and advocaies common sense and respect for
people. The endless referrals to “seek counseling” are worthless, as
“counselors” are full of it for profit. Next o her column is the “Drink of
the Week ” Hene's the main solution to this demented society - get
swazzed.

Then comes business. This reports on the latest job cuts with nary a
conscience. “EA zaps local office - 146 will need new jobs as game 37
‘maker leaves.” It could be about hundreds of thousands of jobs lost,
same difference and tone of the article. s well understood that
whatever corporations do with their operations (like cut jobs, move to
sweatshops overseas, etc) their activities are not to be opposed, but
merely reported upon.

Next comes the electronics news, the advertising world and a column
onlocal radio, ebiz, ads and then the weather! Now, the weather is a
good page. I¢'s like math in school as opposed to “social science.” Its
the only page thatis (almost) totally factual. These temperatures in all
these cities are true! Of course, the forecasts can be and often ate, wrong!

Nextare the stock market reports and tables. 1¥s the boring minutiac
of capitalism. Appropriately, next come the obituaries. People lived and
died and get a flag (veteran) or religious symbol next to their name.
‘Whata summation for a highly diminished life!

‘The rest is sports. But you go to the back of the paper and work your
way backwards. Many people begin reading the paper this way (and
don't go past the sportsl) Sports occupy a huge place in the
consciousness of Amerikans, especially men and boys. We're supposed
o live and die with “our” teams and really our “morality” is funneled
through sports. We admire an athlete’s “work ethic” - work hard and
keep your mouth shut. We don't begrudge their astronomical salaries
and even feel distress during contract squabbles involving our “heroes.”
We seé them as “rolle models” even though next to none of them have an
intelligent thing to say about politics, war, government, etc.

Women and girls get soap operas and clothes and shopping in
general. Men get sports. Anything to keep people inactive politically and
willing to be pliable wage-slaves!

‘The columnists try to ingest some “morality” into their stories. But,
they've all bought into instant acceptance of things as they are - top
down hierarchy and doing what you're told - but doing it well, without
being smart alecky. What misery it all ruly, truly is! Interspersed in this
section are T & A shots, ads for “Gentlemen's Clubs” and other ads to
help those suffering from “erectile dysfunction.”

The Tyranny of the Truth

“O.K. Let's go. C'mon, you know it's all “standard procedure!
Qbey the fuckin’ ruleal”
“Yeah, yeah. Let e get my pants on.”

There are all kinds of ways we're told we can't do this, or say
that ar heaven farbid, ach on what we knaw, Inaane angoing /2.
bloodlettings are to be looked at as something you can’t “morally”
challenge. Support the troops and carp on how expensive if you
‘must, but do not call aut the actwal truth! The few who do single
out the truth will be vilified, harassed, shot — whatnot. So, rule
number one is surrender your soul at the door.

“You've really done it this time. This is treason! This last
piece of vitriol is so alarming people are actually thinking about
what is heing soidl”

“Yeah, well...I'm just ‘“Joe Normal.” I'm your basic bread &

abolition anarchist. Its haw yau have to be - accarding to me - if
you want to decide what happens with your own soul. Tyranny of

Let’s see. It’s a basic fork in the road. If you decide to seek.
the truth and try to follow your evolving consciousness on how

in order to satisfy oneself, do right by others and be aware and

deliberately looking for move anawers, and peintedly, asking new
questions. So much for sleep-sided nighttime snoozes, thinking
about some TV show!

stunned and shocked fear at America, for the insane,
bloodthirsty and reckless monster that it is more and more being.
And the paychological captivity and seductiveness at mindless
consumerism and commerce, which grabs 80 many and makes
countless more long for that type of “life-style” nauseates the

time of religions / fascist extremiam, otherworldly imperialism,
ecological meltdown and a world of suffering and starving people
juxtaposed with high tech arms and “armies.”

“People can't be allowed to hear shit like that! It could be bad

about Vietnam: We should have never been there, but that's

“So, you're trying to save lives. Since there’s nothing that we
can do about, and yeah, it may end up swallowing all of us up
anyway, but if you challenge it, theyl just kill off everybody 44

possession and say so in your own soul. Basically it means, you're
willing ta give up on this life in hapes you'll get inta G past-life

life (maybe two, according to some ") you end up living
‘none (maybe an eternal ane?) That's seunds ridiculous to me!
Why not live the one life you know you have?”

The truth can be worse than heroin. You can be killed over
the truth, but you ¢an never averdese on it! I¥s like an acid trip

for high quality morality in people, as their strongest inclination

af self and others.

A sane social society has these types of people intermingling
with each other, without horrible coercive authority, the lies and
the meaninglesaness of life. Peaple manifest their love in many
different ways, plus they have the ability to analyze and reason.
The different talenta cover all the bases. The onea that are

“You can’t just say, I'm the opposite of what I am! Yeah,
fascism’s horrible and when people are killed by it, they stay
dead. It's beyond an indictment of government that their only
real argument is murder and suffering. But, the truth is still the

What's Wrong with the Police and Prosecutors? ¢

Lately, there's been recling barrage of stoies of police ~ Chicago police and
suburban police - who have been involved in horible “incidents.” Whether it is a story,

his painfully, devastated family...and for what —“political reasons?" How disgusting!

‘Remember those three girls in Crete, run over by that remorseless drunk? What
happened to him for these ghastly crimes? The answer is next 10 nothing. The police and
proseciors automatically suspect fomily members and other available-to-implicate
citizens, but there’s a fip side, 0o. The police and prosecutors themselves don't have to

The Shame and Cowardice of Will County

On the terrible night of July 20%, 2006, a wonderful
young man, Dylan Drapeau, aged 17, was viciously killed at
the dangerous intersection of 394 & Richton Road, in Crete —
by off-duty Lynwood, cop, Brian Dorian. Dylan, who was
stopped in the middle of the intersection, awaiting his turn,
was horrificaly broadsided by Dorian, who was estimated as
traveling between 83 and 100 miles per hour.

Dylan was an incredibly talented, gified, clean-cut person.
Dorian has demonstrated himself to be a callous, remorseless
monster, basically. Even a judge, commenting on Dorian’s
behavior at a hearing concerning a subsequent incident,
where he is accused of assaulting a teen-aged girl, called him
a “bad apple.”

Dylan was treated like road kill by the Crete police, who
lied to the parents that night, by telling them that there were
1o witnesses and that Dylan pretty much caused his own
death.

But there was a witness and he saw this whole nightmare _
unfold in front of him. He atopped, tried to help, alerted the
police and gave a statement. For his civic-minded efforts, he
was given the brush-off. His detailed statement (including a
drawing he drew of the accident the night it happened) form
the basis of a wrongful death suit brought against Dorian by
the family, within a week of this tragedy.
Dorian was not given a field sobriety check and his alleged
drug/aleohol test at the hospital is shrouded in mystery. The
authorities clearly wanted the whole episade to be quickly 47
forgotten and uncontested.

The State Police took their sweet time and determined
that Dorian, although wildly speeding, did nothing else
wrong. The damning specifics of the witness’s account were
totally dismissed. They said, “He could have been coached.”
This even though the witness told the Crete police exactly
what happened right after the accident. His account has
remained consistent throughout. The parents were told to
take solace in the fact that the remorseless Dorian will “have
to live” with causing Dylan’s death.

So, the parents did what they had to do to get the Will
County State’s Attorney to investigate. This took several
months of frustrating and anxious days, waiting for
information that was poorly provided and disrespectfully
infrequent.

In the meantime, Dylan’s parents also got a professor
from Purdue who teaches accident reconstruction, to do a
study of the accident. He concluded the witness’s account to
be the most plausible explanation for how the vehicles ended
up locked together, where they did.

The Will County State’s Attorney refused to investigate
allegations that Dorian was drinking before the accident, as
had been widely rumored and suspected. They accepted the
“test” that claimed he was totally clean, without question.
Dylan, as we had always known, was unquestionably drug
and alcohol free.

After 13 % excruciatingly painful months, the Will County
State’s Attorneys told Dylan’s parents that they would not
prosecute Dorian for reckless homicide (much less murder)
Dut rather, issue him a speeding ticket! They cited “Tilinois
1aw” blah, blah. They took the coward’s way out. They said
even though this guy may very well be a monser...

He is a cop and thus wasn't genuinely investigated from
the get-go by his buddies, so “under the law” he is allowed to
get away with this senseless, reckless death, with but a mere
traffic ticket. Such is “justice” for the citizens of Will County.
Sadly, this travesty is pandemie across the country. ¥9

Meanwhile, Dorian is still a cop in Lynwood, never having
been suspended or even reprimanded for his brutal actions,
but r&dwr, rallied around. ‘He has a reputation as rogue cop
and vicious person. The civil suit is being held in Cook
County, because Dorian lied on his driver’s license, as to his
residence. He actually lives in Will County (Crete.)

Dylan lies in the grave that had been meant for his
grandmother, over in Indiana. The system allows for child-
murder by cop, without serious repercussions.

To their credit, Crete-Monee High School, where Dylan
had been at or near the head of his class, was host to a 1.
month memorial rally on August 20t, 2006. Also, at this
year's commencement ceremonies, where Dylan would have
graduated, to a no doubt stellar future, he was awarded a
posthumous high school diploma. A scholarship was set up
in his name and given to the 2007 Valedictorian.

So, what can be done in the wake of this unspeakable loss
and disgusting official cowardice? Well, I could tell you the
“laws must be changed” 80 a vicious crime like this can be
prosecuted in Illinois, when committed by a policeman or
some other person with political and legal connections. And,
1o doubt, a stop light or sign should be erected immediately
on 394 at Richton Road, as they are on the intersections
north and south (Steger Road & Exchange Avenve.) This
‘would minimize future injuries and deaths there.

But, I don’t really see that as a real “solution.” I agree
with Thomas Jefferson. When a government turns on its
own people, they are obliged to get rid of it.

police say they were not involved in a chase buy eyewitness’s say Steve

Also in March we all saw on the news a drunken pig beating a female:
barteader for refusing hith a driak. The police harassed witnesses, journalists,
and the victim in the following weeks so they could protect their buddy.

On July 21, Lester “Roni” Spruill was found dead in a cell at the 11 district
station. Roni's neighbors saw police pull him out of his house beaten and
unconscious. Just a few weeks later on the South Side, hs sister called police
to the house of Geoffrey Johnson because he had drugs on him. While
arresting Geoffrey the police tasered him three times killing him on the spot.

On August 6* two nights after Geoffrey Johnson was executed police in

Nationally and locally immigrant workers are being arrested in workplace

Everyday we hear about something the police did, murdering, beating

a new accurreace, poor people especially people of color have been under
attack by the police in their communities for a long time; that is why Chicago
needs to build a strong unified movement to take a stand against police
terrorism. Join the October 22* coalition and be a part of that movement.
We hear about terrorism everyday in the news. We

Greetings from the Gulags!
s

It’'s my honor to represent prisoners at
this rally. First, let me read you a little
letter from a conscious sister, Tami, which
sums it up. It was in the Sun-Times a couple
of weeks ago.

Burden Left on Women

This has been happening in the black community
for years. Our young men are being taken away from
us on trumped-up charges and no one does anything
about it. Women wonder where all the good men are
and the sad thing is most of them are in jail. And we

as women are left to raise men.
Tami

Incarceration is a crime against humanity.
This evil daily torture is what happens after
the cops kidnap a certain some of our youth off
the streets and force them through the crime of
being railroaded through their injustice
system!

Government is massive, organized crime!
The U.S. Constitution is a slave document and
always has been! Not one of us has ever
genuinely agreed to abide by it. It's been
shoved down our throats since day ome! The 13%
Amendment sanctions human slavery for
prisoners, who by their definition - have no
rights. From chattel slavery to peonage,
prison slavery, Jim Crow, sweatshop slavery,
imperialist occupations, genocide and to the
police staté we see today, the major suit and
tie criminals have always told the cops who to
menace in order to keep this system of murder
and theft in place. Dick “Tater” Daley is the

most dangerous dude in town!
Street crime is a direct function of st
systemic inequality. A billionaire deprives a
million pecple of $1,000 each, which they could
sorely use! So now who do you think gets
shoved into a cage? Is it the billionaire or
some poor Afrikan?

Drug abuse is a serious social problem,
whether the drugs are legal or not. The state
aggravates the problem by criminalizing some of
them and capitalizing on their selected
suppression &/or regulation. The laws are used
to threaten people with. This year’s Afghani
heroin crop is the biggest in history, under
Bush’s bloody occupation. Poverty and
suffering drive its cultivation and its
consumption!

Prisoners are teaching and learning the
truth, which is the last thing the enslavers
want to see happen.

We must also learn by working closely with
the Prisoners are still part of our
community. They can’t just steal them!
They’re our Brothers and Sisters and they see
the true face of Ameriklan fascism on a daily
basis. Their fight is our fight, for we’'re all
on tight security in this demented, locked-
down, criminally-run country! Free the EL
Norte 2.3 million!

Something Nice

mRomaw

T came outside early, 5 o'clock to go to work. Three planets were close
together in the sky, 8o I drove south a mile to a wide open field to have a
1ook see. It was so nice and quiet, I could hear my footsteps clearly. An
owl was hooting, nearby. At least be was awake, tool couldn't see the
‘planets, which were close to the horizon, but not because of pollution or
“light pollution.” Tt was just kinda hazy that morning.

8o, 0ff to my inane job I duly trudged. T put my little Sony tape player
on the coat hook and played Laura Nyro, like I do almost every morning,
firat off. I'm atil waking up and her beautiful voice reminds me of my
wifl, who also has'a glorious voice. So, ite kinda like T still in bed with
her. (smile) &l

‘Soon enough, traffic picks up and the Laura Nyro songbird hour is
over, so.1 switch to Van Moxrison, my breed and butter,

‘Sometimes, I'll play stuff ke the Dead or Phish or the Pogues, maybe
Hot Tuna or medleys of mixed bands. I've got hundreds of tapes. Its
what I believe in! Tapes! Cassette tapes. When they first came out, I
liked ‘em more than those stupid 8-tracks.

Thated CD's. Now, I hafta use ‘em, too, to make tapes and because
they're not malking caseette players, anymore. 1 finally got a car with a
player, but it only plays CD's. One time a friend gave me a CD of the
Clash's masterpisce — Sandinistal - 3 CD's, but I gave it back to him.
That was stupid (and ungrateful) but like I say, 'm ot fond of CD's.

T the wake of this ongoing nightmare of Dylan's death (iilled by a
Iying, drunken, low-life pig) my wife found a little ad in the Penny Saver.
Some lady was offering froe “Dead tapes.” So, being the conscientious,
Toving person she is, she elerted-me, So, | called the number, Swre
enough this lady, named Dee, claimed to be offering several dozen Dead
tapes to a “good home.”

1 guess 1 impressed upon her my sincerity and enthusiasm for she also
offered me many other tapes, too. I was so delighted! Someons, a perfect
stranger, was doing something wonderful for me — maybe.

‘There were logistical problems and time-frame delays. She had to go
out of town for a while then 1 had to. I lost her number and then I found
it, again. 1 called her back. She remembered and the offer was still good.
In fact, she'd even come to my house!

Oue fime day, this little old Indy did come to my house with » big box
full of awesome Dead tapes, meticulously decorated with all the songs
neatly listed — many, many live concert tapes, along with a whole ‘nuther
‘ohapping bag full of other tapes of bands frem the 60's, 70% and 80's, T4
say ahe gave me up to 100 tapes — all for nothing! I gave her a bag of

1t was incredible! 1 started listening to some of them. Some were
now I have several versions of awesome Dead songs, recordings of songs
of bands I never got around to listening to, al in pecially decorated
cases. Its a genuine treasure trove. Whoever put these together spent
‘countless hours, days, weeks, months and years crafting them, possibly
also following the Dead all over the country, keeping track of radio shows,
concerts, etc. Maybe be (or she!) was a DJ of some sort, who also,
obviously loved tapes:

1 wonder what happened to him or her. Maybe (s)he died somehow. I
couldn't imagine the person would just give them up. 1t seemed like the
person somehow left the scene and his or her mother ended up with them.
Apparently, she didn't share her child's enthrallment with 60 — 80 rock
‘music, 80 lovingly captured on cassette tape.

But, 1 sure do and it's one of the two nicest things a perfect stranger
ever did for me. The other one was when a guy gave me a huge collection
of plywood Christmas cut-outs that festooned his house. He had a ‘2
gingerbread boy and girl, a dog licking a peppermint circle, M & M
He just up and gave me everything, which we have since adarned our
house with, every year since, from November to February. We're known
around town as the “gingerbread house.”

Here's how this came about. My wife had commented on how she
enjoyed this display, which was on a house in Park Forest, the town she
had lived in since the age of ten. The first ten years of her life she lived

Anyway, s0 one day, I was driving around with my 2year old nephew
and we drove by his house. It was around Christmastime. 1 decided to
stop and sk the guy if he would be willing to fabricate something similar
for me, that I could surprise my wife with for our wedding anniversary,
‘which comes on Valentine's Day = February 140

1 talked to his wife. He wasn't home at the time. I got their phone
number and called him later that night. I told him how much my wife

* liked his handiwork and mentioned the gingerbread boy and girl. Here it
is, once again, & perfoct etranger just talking to me on the phone. By the
time the conversation was over, he had offered to plain give me the
gingerbread boy and girl and everything else!

Twas kinda shocked! I told my wife and she was tharoughly delighted.
‘The next day we drove both our cars over there, and sure enough, this
guy gave us everything. I gave him a couple of bottles of wine.

He said his daughters were growing up and they were all moving to
another house ho was building out in rural Monee. So he was happy to
give his creations to a good home. My kids were little then, soit really
worked out. With minor adjustments, the cut-outs looked like they were
‘made for our house. Having our house set in the woods anyway, made
the display real cool looking and we've been putting them up every year
since, some twelve years or so.

Our boys.are 13 and 19 now, but they still like ‘em and the kids on the
school bus talk about i, to them. -

‘The tapes and cut-outs are nice, but it is the generosity that lingers in
my heart. So, I return the favor by sending out free zines to spread the
love!
InAugust, the Will County State’y Attorney finally told,
Dylan's parenty they would, not prosecute Officer Brian
Doriawfor anything other thar w speeding ticket for the
horrifickidling of their wonderful son I knew it was
coming; but it was so-painful, to-watch this whole corrupt
nightmare unfold, in real time for the wiffering famdly. 1
promised I'd go-through with all this mdwughlnbhor
dealing with officialy - especially cops, prosecutory ands
Judges. T detest wardeny andall the rest of themy toot

S0; avpiece about that iy invhere. I'mhoping to-put
Ppressure onvthemy call for the furing of the Crete Police chief

more respect for the corrupt and vicious police forces v

he wouldw't. He'yavery bright young man and that'y dork

@Whe cheaper! He'd blity the grades either way and be
more comfortable: His girifriend and other friends are up

onwhigown: Hislast two yeary of high school and one

incredible amount at these times. I'm sure he feels
frustrated not having all of hiy time to-leawrn and do-what
he wanty with who-he wanty, sequestered i as 2-man room:

Our other son Stepheny is 13. He'yin 8> grade. He'yvery

ay yow can imagine, but this year so-far, o better than last.
After thiy year, we may move to-get him in o different school
district. Al the schools are pretty much the same to-me, but
not to-my wife: I'mhoping I can convince him to-really
